I told my service guy all of my symptoms and he said if I didn't already have the update they would just put in the file that it was to solve the excessive fan noise issues and do the update. Of note, the fan is totally normal sounding now.

Thanks much. The soft reset seems to have fixed the issue for the time being, so hopefully no more issues but the dealer is already aware and said they will take care of it if the problems persist!
