  1. Need Help Picking Tires

For street use, I'd definitely go with a 35" all terrain tire. The Ridge Grappler and BFG A/T are both good choices.
  2. Who's leasing? Please step inside!

No, I believe it. That's what I'm seeing, with used. Yes, new JK's had option prices increase at some point last year, but the used ones seem to be going up as well, relative to where they were a year ago. For example, in June of last year, I was considering a '15 JKU at a local dealer for...
  3. Front doors look like they are pushed in?

I was next to a Granite JLU on the way to work this morning, and yeah, I noticed the doors looked super wavy. It's one of those "It's a Jeep thing!" things.
  4. Possible deal. Is this it? Good deal? Bad deal? Am I rushing? Need feedback!

That's sick, I'm tempted to fly my ass out from RI to buy that.
  5. Possible deal. Is this it? Good deal? Bad deal? Am I rushing? Need feedback!

According to numerous articles I've read by people in the business, "cash is king" does not hold true in the car business. Dealers make more money if you finance with them. And maybe you guys are being too suspicious of his local dealer. Maybe he just wants it off the lot because hardly anyone...
  6. Jeep vs Defender

Simple: We want what we can't have. Also, they look cool, and the "Land Rover" name has snob appeal here.
  7. Drivers with automatic trans and 3.6L V6, any regrets on not getting the 2.0L Turbo?

That whole "turbos are unreliable" thing is BS. I have a turbo in my Volvo, a 2.5L 5cyl. It's about to roll 212k miles by the end of the week, and zero issues with the turbo. LOTS of older turbo cars running around with high mileage on them. Change the oil on a regular basis and they're fine...
  8. Paces to fo off road RI, Ma, CT??

Dude, your sport is PLENTY capable for running on the beach. Unless you plan on running single digit pressure, beadlocks are extremely unnecessary. Driving on the beach here is not like you see in youtube videos of Pismo, there's no flying up bowl and roosting corners. It's pretty much 20mph...
  9. Can't decide ... Sahara or Rubicon??

No, they all have the same wheelbase based on 2 or 4 doors. The ride difference is most likely from the street based tires on the Sahara, as well as softer shock and spring tuning. Also could be the Rubi was running with over inflated tires, as a lot of people have been reporting.
  10. Can't decide ... Sahara or Rubicon??

Oh of course. I'm sure a lot of people bought it because it was the most expensive an therefore "best", or they liked the wheel/tire package the best (I have a friend who bought a Winter Edition JKU last year specifically because she thought the BFG's looked better than the "wimpy" tires on the...
  11. Can't decide ... Sahara or Rubicon??

I think I may have mentioned the 4.10 gears will be better for the planned larger tires. Good point on the towing, though the 3500lb rating stays the same. And whatever the actual size difference on the tires, the BFG's on the Rubi LOOK much larger than the stock Sport or Sahara tires.
  12. Economy Lift Kit - Shock extension or not?

No, you can get either or, but you don't need both. Shock extensions will allow you to use your existing shocks, effectively making them 2" longer to accommodate the lift. If you order the shocks, they should be 2" longer than stock and the extensions would not be needed. I'm not familiar with...
  13. Going for a more mellow and chill vibe on my JL. Anyone have wheel suggestions?

I have no idea what that really means, but THESE came to mind immediately. I don't even know if they come in the right bolt pattern, but here's your wheel if they do: https://www.jegs.com/i/MHT/608/U10117908337/10002/-1 I also found a similar wheel in black steel on Extreme terrain's site...
  14. Economy Lift Kit - Shock extension or not?

FYI, I know everyone looks down on Rough Country, however IMO a spacer kit is a spacer kit. RC's is less than half the price of the one you posted, and it comes with shock extensions (which are a good idea). Look up user LiteBrite on Youtube to see an install vid and to see it in action on...
  15. MASSACHUSETTS BUYERS.. where are you buying from?

Yeah, you're probably right about the sticker. Even a base Sport JLU has some sticker shock once you add the HT and 8speed. But who in New England doesn't want heated seats? I think some of the packages Jeep offers are rip offs, but cold weather seems like a good value. No way could you add...
  16. MASSACHUSETTS BUYERS.. where are you buying from?

Thanks. I checked out there site and saw him in the staff section, I like that I can email him directly. I'll reach out soon and see what kind of price I can get if I order. Unfortunately they have nothing that I would want in stock. You'd think the cold weather group and Ltd Slip rear would be...
  17. My 3 week Rubi' review.

Gorgeous Jeep! I'm really loving that blue. Thanks for sharing the other pics too, that's a cleaaaaan CJ, and the Jeep plant pics are great, gotta respect the granddaddy of them all!
  18. Should I make the switch? Taco to JLU?

Yes, Dealers make money off the finance. They give you one rate, but take a bit off the top for themselves. So that old story of being a cash buyer is better is false these days. If you have to finance to get the deal, do so, and (make sure there are no penalties for paying off early) then...
  19. MASSACHUSETTS BUYERS.. where are you buying from?

Oh no kidding! I'll be on the lookout for a JLU Sahara on the island. If you get a Jeep wave from a Volvo wagon, that would be me, haha.
  20. MASSACHUSETTS BUYERS.. where are you buying from?

Where in MA? I'm originally from New Bedford, and I still work in the area. That's damn shady of them. I noticed on their sites that they list the same vehicles. I've also noticed they took over Somerset Jeep, which is no matter because they were never in the running. A co-worker got his JK Big...
