I'm away from home for the moment so I can't snap one. The only picture I have is of tape I put over the holes which I then noticed took care of the sound I was hearing. Attached is another forum member who's battling another issue, but the rubber plugs shown are the access plugs that were...
I posted in this thread a while back and wanted to share an update. While my JLUR was much improved after reducing tire pressure, tightening the steering box, centering the steering wheel, it still didn’t drive like my ‘11 Sport or ‘15 Willy’s did. Granted the Rubicon came with 33’s while the...
My JLUR had a rattle sound. Turned out since new it was missing the rubber access hole plugs in the bottom of the transmission bell housing, leaving two open holes about an inch each, broadcasting the noise. Got the plugs and all good now.
It would have. I installed the tailgate reinforcement ahead of time since the gear wheels with nitto's is at the upper weight limit they claim without reinforcement. Another user on here is running the same wheels/tires without the reinforcement, no issue.
Today I visited the parts dept and it turns out the JL plugs are the same as a JK. They’re $1 each and p/n 4593887AB. They’re called access hole plugs.
Perfect! I’ll be visiting the dealer to get a set. On mine at least, the occasional chatter broadcasting out the holes is getting annoying.
Dealer had the Jeep for a week and put more than 70 mi on it. Only to give it back out of gas and no solution to the problem which turned out to be...
As title says, I recall JK had rubber plugs in the bottom of the bell housing for inspection or to keep gunk out. My JL doesn’t. Pictured with foil tape over them for reference.
My JL has had a rattle since new. Frequently would happen from idle up to 2000 rpm or so and up to 20mph...
These are great pics that show off the quality of these shocks. I wanted to mention in this pic, the offset end where it bolts to the axle, yours is backwards. There is no mention of how this is supposed to go in the instructions. A while back I found a video, perhaps by TeraFlex, that show...
They ride well on-road. The roads around here are pretty good so I can't comment on pot holes. I think the Falcon's ride similar to the stock rubicon shocks but my observation is they have a more firm than stock initial feel (like right when they begin to dampen), then feel very smooth & seem...
I installed the 1.5 spacers (1165200), bump stop striker kit (1959500), and Falcon shocks (1101214000003). Sort of the poor mans ST1 system. I didn't do the true ST1 since I can't figure out the need for those $95 Falcon bump stops (the striker kit I understand, but these I do not).
I have...
Thankfully mine is a "pretty good one", when I had the stock wheels/tires dropping the pressure to spec helped 70% of the wandering. It's amazing the JL leaves the lot with tires aired up so high. It still wasn't as good as the JK I traded (which steered and tracked wonderful). Mine doesn't...
I can't help, but those are great looking wheels! I've read AEV wheels may have an issue clearing the rear camera. The offset also pokes them out more on a JL than JK.
I think they'd look great... The show pic of them on white looks sharp and should compliment your silver nicely. In my most recent pics these look really bright for some reason but as they’re satin they’re not so. Maybe sun glare and camera sucks.
I ended up installing a reinforcement kit...
I couldn’t wait. The wheels sitting in the corner of the garage kept taunting me. I asked my shop (Litz for anyone nearby, great place) what they recommended because I was pretty open to nearly any 35 A/T. We had a good discussion and went for the Nitto Ridge Grappler. Just noticed that’s...
They're here! I wanted to add pics and extra detail.
The finish on the wheels looks very good. They're mostly satin silver however the spoke inlay and barrel appear darker. The gear lip is brighter, almost polished or chrome. It's all clear coated as well.

Pulled the trigger, the Gear wheels have been ordered!
I liked the Hardrock wheel from my '15 Willy's and they look great on JL's (especially with machined accents). I had been considering the Mopar beadlocks too. Sort of prefer a solid spoke over a split spoke. Also the concavity of this...
