I have the same issue with mine. As near as I can tell, there is a spring inside a housing that the wheel is supposed to push up against at the end of the rail. On one side i have the spring with good resistance and there are no problems, on the other side the spring somehow disappeared (???)...
~5,000 miles on 4 of the tires. the 5th was never mounted. 18-Inch x 7.5-Inch Polished Wheels w/ Gray Spokes with 255/70R18 All Season Tires. All are in very good condition. No damage or noticeable wear. Rims are all in "like new condition" and may as well be new. Includes TPMS Sensors...
I didn't once I got all 6 of the mounting bolts on. The instructions were lacking to say the least, and i was missing some bolts/washers, so I had missed a couple of bolts initially. Its all good now and seems pretty solid.
Yeah, its unfortunate that the manual trans feels like a bit of an afterthought, but with so few people buying it I suppose its a sign of the times. With where the hazard lights button is placed it took me a couple of weeks to stop accidentally bumping it and turning on my hazards in traffic...
I did not put in an adjustable track bar, but its on my list of future mods. I also did not regear, but I would be open to it. I've never been thrilled with the gearing of the MT tbh since 5th and 6th are almost meaningless if you actually want to accelerate.
i'm running 35s and the 2" Mopar lift (which is more like a 3" lift) I didn't want to go any higher so I could avoid driveshaft or gearing issues. Keep in mind you'll also need an upgraded tire carrier for the bigger wheels. I know there are other threads with WAY more info one this, so...
I went with the Mopar lift and I am running 35" Wrangler Duratrac Tires and 7" Method MR302 Fat Five Wheels. I was able to find the lift on Ebay for just under $1000 and the tires/wheels I got from Tire Rack. The lift nets out to a bit more than 2 inches, and with the new wheels i'd say I...
I've only owned one car that was an auto, and I found it to be boring. Love the added level of control over RPMs/shift points, particularly complimented with an aftermarket exhaust. Having a built in theft deterrent is a nice feature too!
I coincidentally just put 35s on my JL Sahara 4 door a few weeks ago and I'm running an Manual trans. I've noticed some lag in acceleration and the MPG has been down to around 16, but I love it. It has not felt like the Jeep is struggling when under heavy acceleration at all though and overall...
Barricade Adventure HD Front Bumper
Barricade Extreme HD Rear Bumper
Barricade Extreme HD Tire Carrier
You'll get to know you Jeep very well while installing the tire carrier. Other than that the bumpers were very straightforward. For a total less than $1100 its a nice setup to accommodate...
update in case anyone else is in a similar predicament. The Barricade kit came with a backup camera and wiring harnesses, just not necessarily the right ones... It is certainly possible to get it to work, but you'll need some patience and creativity.
Put on a new Barricade tire carrier with backup camera. Fun "Get to Know Your Jeep" project that took 300-400% longer than the prescribed 2 hours due to the need for some customization. Overall super happy with the result though.
I finished installing the Barricade rear bumper and tire carrier this weekend. I'm running 35s on a Mopar lift. Instructions estimated 2 hours, 6-7 was probably more realistic due to fabrication and problem solving. Some minor drilling and creativity, nothing terrifying, but time consuming...
Looks like I've managed to put myself into a bit of a pickle, and I'm hoping there may be a relatively easy solution. I have already purchased and installed the Barricade HD Rear bumper on my JL. I had also ordered the Barricade tire carrier, only to see now that it looks like it does not...
i learned the hard way, At least see if they will run the wiring and water line for the hardtop at the factory. I got the softtop first, and was going to wait for the aftermarket to come our with more compelling hardtops, but now it looks like I will need to run all that stuff myself once I do...
I installed a Flowmaster Force II catback exhaust. (pics below) Super easy install btw. Just be prepared to give your pound of flesh getting the OEM exhaust off the hangers.
Its a bit loud with the softtop, but I love it and the other end can't hear it if I'm on a call. To my surprise my...
anyone know if these guys would be interest in a group buy? I imagine we could get a decent number of folks interested and get the price point below $50
So I've had at least a couple FJ Cruiser drivers wave to me in traffic. One even had the wave sticker on the side mirror. Is this a thing? If we are all playing the same waving game, I was not aware. Happy to be amenable, but was curious what other folks thought. Other than being an SUV...
