I got a piece of aluminum bar stock. had it powder coated then clamped in on to the tow hooks. It is a bit tricky to keep the bar from sliding backwards due to the hook inside slope, but doable with some patience. Had this on for 16 months with no issues. Good luck!

My tribander is a supergainer and too tall to get into the garage. I use the Diamond NR770HNMO dual bander with NMO mount. Works great! Just touches the tip when entering/departing the garage. Holding up well! Jim KJ7CEB

Here is mine. Airstream Bambi 16RB with a Blue Ox weight distribution hitch. GVWR of 3500# we tow it at around 3100#. Towed it from Phoenix to San Diego up a few 6% grades with no issues. Average 17.9 mpg on flat roads. Tows beautifully!

Yeah, the new position will definitely improve your xmt/rcv on CB. Have you considered just bolting it to the vertical surface that has two holes already there? The rear hole should give you plenty of strength for that mount and you won't have to worry about welding on two powder coated...

I just put hook Velcro on the bottom. There easn't enough clearance when the rear passenger seat is lowered to do anything else. Seems to work well (unless I become inverted).
