  1. 35” Tire on the factory spare mount?

So, I opted for the OE hinge reinforcement option as I’ve read countless times that a 35” tire can be mounted to the spare tire mount. My beef isn’t with the reinforcement, it’s the fact that a 35” does NOT fit on the mount! When I attempt to close the tailgate, the bottom of the new 35” tire...
  2. New Cooper Rugged Trek

At my local rural tire shop and of course they can’t keep SST’s in stock. But he pulled this new Rugged Trek outta nowhere. Hmmmm.
  3. Leveling Kits for the 3.0

New 3.0 Rubicon is in the works in Toledo and as my DD, I don’t plan to really lift it, just level it and go to 35’s which will suffice for 90% of my Michigan wheeling. My question is, which kits have you diesel owners bought that did a decent job of actually leveling the Jeep? I bought .75”...
  4. Let’s talk tread wear.

My new JLURD will be here in two weeks and I will go to 35’s before it even hits my driveway. It will be my DD, but don’t mind some road noise. On my previous JKUR, I had both KM2’s and Nitto Mud Grapplers. Both had pros and cons. What experiences are you guys having with tread wear on any M/T...
  5. Closed Loop Options on Factory Bumper

The red hooks are nice looking that come on the Rubicon steel bumper, but make me a tad nervous not being closed completely. Anyone know of a closed loop option that is direct replacement for the red hooks that fits the factory bumper?
  6. Radio/Mic Mount Options

My JL has a ship date of 4/25 so I'm starting to amass the items I'd like to have on it from day one. Which leads me to radios. I plan to go the GRMS route, still not sure which radio I'll buy. What radio are you using and where do you have the unit (and mic) mounted? Include brand of mount too...
  7. 35x10" Tire?

Everyone makes a 12.5" wide, 35" tire. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes a 35" (or ever a 37") that's LESS than 12.5"? I had a buddy forever ago who had 35's on his TJ and they were only 9"(?) wide...I think. They reminded me of the old school military jeep tires that were so...
  8. Lots of Good Reviews, those Bad Ones though....

Hello owners, writing because I need some input. Yesterday was the second time I was supposed to call my salesman and give a deposit for a JLURD, but got cold feet. Two nights ago I was up till 1am here on the forums reading horror stories of this engine. Guys with 4-8K miles and it's already...
  9. Great Lakes Winters and the 3.0

Dropping my deposit today on a JLURD and started to wonder last night about it's cold weather performance. For those of you with the 3.0 in northern climates, do you notice any differences when the engine is cold? Did you opt for the engine block heater (I'm planning to)? At what temps do you...
  10. Great Lakes Winters and these 3.0 Diesels

Dropping my deposit today on a JLURD and started to wonder last night about it's cold weather performance. For those of you with the 3.0, do you notice any differences when the engine is cold? Did you opt for the engine block heater (I'm planning to)? At what temps do you normally plug in the...
  11. LED Lights and the cold.

Hi Guys, Finally getting ready to put down a deposit on a JLURD and I had seen in a video someone say that LED's should be given second thought in the northern climates because the LEDs don't produce enough heat to keep the snow from accumulating on the lens when driving. Has anyone...
  12. Michigan Dealers with Good Deals?

Hey All, looking to buy a JL, but can't find what I want anywhere in the friggin' nation with Autotrader. I'm willing to drive up to day's worth away, (8-12hr drive), maybe longer if its a steal. Where are the best "local" dealers for JL deals? Anyone closer than Koon's or Criswell that'll...
  13. Buying Soon: Engine Option Questions...

Hey All, long time reader, 2nd time poster... I think I'm going to buy a JL. Also maybe considering the JT. But really considering the 3.0. What is the overall opinion of that? Besides the whole, new engine, potential long term issues, what are thoughts for overall use? I'm leaning towards...
  14. 2Door Snow Performance. Owner’s Opinions Requested

Just about ready to pull the trigger on a Rubicon. I’ve had a JKUR for several years and then more recently had a TJR. Obviously the wheelbase and weight difference make the TJ more squirrelly while driving down paved roads, but I about died twice and the wife made me sell it. So now here I am...
