I too, am a dinosaur. I miss the days of loading CDs into the dash and not having to look at anything or press any buttons, just load and listen. Also, I miss flipping thru the CD books, looking for the art on the disc. I don't know what the album was called, but I can recall the picture on...
I have not had the windows blow out, but I have experienced the drivers side window getting pulled out of the front edge channel. I was driving with the soft top in the sun rider position, door windows up and soft top windows in place. It was a windy day, so windy that I had the door windows...
Congratulations! Even though you had some trouble, you pushed through and finished the job. Well done. I think you'll find this experience has taught you a lot more than you ever expected. You are now better prepared to fix something on the trail, or even help out someone else. This will...
What was the result of the dealer visit? Mine just freaked out this morning. It stayed in a continual cycle of start up before ignition, a bunch of lights flash (warning lights), sway bar disconnect, brakes, steering, not in park, etc. Then dash off and start the process again. I could not...
First, let me say, fundamentally, I do not disagree with anything you said. This is not a challenge to your opinion nor your experience in the matter, but rather some counterpoints for those who might be afraid to use the Mopar kit.
I wonder if (hope) you got a bad kit from Mopar? I wonder if...
Just general advice, I wouldn't try to put it on your Jeep and then fix it. I don't think you'll be able to secure it with one side broken. If it were me, I'd lay out a large blanket on the floor of your garage, open the top up with the top side down and see what you got. I think the...
I have both tops. The soft top has some disadvantages that have been listed:
Noise - its louder than the hardtop
Security - easier to break into
Heat - Florida summers, wow its going to be hot in the Jeep when you first get in
and one I have not seen mentioned is the access to the cargo area...
Hey guys, thanks for all the info here; but i have a question:
For the Warn Power Interrupter, can you attach the large cables to either post (one from + batt and one going to winch <red cable>?
I was wiring mine up today, but my red cable from the winch is not long enough to reach the large...
Can anyone identify what size bolt would fit this tapped hole? 2018 JLUR, Under the hood, passenger side of the engine compartment, next to the battery.
I'd like to mount my winch's power interrupter here using a bracket. Is it the same size as the fender bolt next to it? if so, what size...
I hate to be "the guy", but why not stop at a dealership. Have one of them try to get it to shift. When they struggle, ask what they can do about it.
One thing else to try in your garage, while pulling on the transfer case lever can you shimmy the steering wheel left and right? This should...
Wow, that was a tough read. Sorry for the OP. So many strong opinions about other people's opinions about color and fit an finish. In spending top dollar on a top trim level, its only natural to want the fit and finish and colors to go well together. I also think Jeep should have made a few...
Will exhaust add hp to fix your problem - no. Sound only.
Will a tuner fix your problem - no
Your problem is the loss of mechanical advantage in going to bigger tires and aerodynamics. Gear change is your only way to get that back. Or as someone said above, forced induction.
Air down the tires...I know you said that feels dumb for this one obstacle, but it does more than just give you more traction. It will help you transition UP the rock/curb with the front tires. Think of it this way, when you are aired down, say 15 psi, and sitting flat on the parking lot you...
OP - I noticed a little "slide" effect after the Mopar Lift install. It happens when turning left after spring compression on the right rear, then left rear. Like when entering a roundabout. Its simply the new geometry of the rear trackbar to the axle. With any lift, the angle from the axle...
I simply say, The sticker was ....
Thats it. Ive never had anyone follow up with "But, how much did you Pay?"
Honest answer...I don't remember...
Its funny seeing the differing opinions for the different age groups. You younger guys/girls don't remember or know what it was like living without...
