  1. Best oil cooler for the 3.6?

Subscribing as I assume mine just started leaking, also. Oil running down passenger side of the bellhousing and collecting on the crossmember, spraying on everything after of the seats. ~60k miles. We had the dealer do an oil change a few weeks ago, but I don't think it's related. I verified the...
  2. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Update - Ran fine all week with ESS active. Wife called me on her way home today, said a CEL showed up. I plugged in the OBD dongle when she got home and P1DB1 concerns me.
  3. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I wouldn't get rid of it due to the battery issue, but my wife would! I also agree it's silly to do so, but she hates the thought of being stranded. I've had my new vehicles fail me much more than my old ones... As far as the IBS, it seems there's no real way to test it? I guess I should just...
  4. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

You can see the empty stud circled here. it has a 150A fuse on it just like N3, that isn't normally used (it is on some). That line is what I used to check the fuse without removing it. I put the voltmeter on N8 (blank at the end) and on N3, and had no continuity - which means the fuse was...
  5. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

@Bmstephens, You should have an empty post right next to the N3 fuse that can be used. If you have a voltmeter, put it on continuity testing (or a test light) and touch it to the 'N8' area, and the N3 area. If you have no continuity, your N3 is blown. Move N3 to N4, and it should work. Leaving...
  6. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Seems to make sense to me. Why then would it start just fine any time other than a ESS event? Because all of the extra loads weren't drawing amperage? That's the thing that is confusing me. I assume that it only exceeded the fuse rating during an ESS because the A/C, lights, stereo, and all of...
  7. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

@Jebiruph I think you were correct. I would've swapped both batteries at the same time, but there wasn't one within 30mi of me when I got the aux battery Friday. Batteries are dying all over in this heatwave down south, and stock is low. Regardless, I had them order one for me. It arrived...
  8. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Yes, only during an ESS event. I removed the main battery, put the voltmeter on the chassis ground, and on the negative battery cable for the aux battery, And got 12.43V. That's Normal?
  9. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

No, they look clean, like I would expect from a 5 year old vehicle. The adhesive lining on some of the heat shrink is separating from the lugs/insulation, but that's normal. I own a small business working on boats, with a lot of it being re-wires, 12V switch panels, battery setups, etc. (on top...
  10. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Bench tested the PCR, seems to be functioning as designed. Applied 12V+/- to the coil and the relay opened. Lugs on PCR look clean, tight, no cross threading. I did find a cut in the wire insulation on the aux battery negative lead, but it wasn't open and shows no signs of arcing. I doubt it's...
  11. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I have a feeling this may be the issue. Got a few more minutes to troubleshoot this morning before I have to leave again. Disconnected and removed the main battery. Separated all negative wires. Using the voltmeter on VDC, probe between fenderwell ground and negative aux lead shows 12.43V...
  12. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I did notice it gradually falling, and thought it may just be stored energy.
  13. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

That would make sense, but it has no problem restarting when hot as soon as I switch N3 (blown) to N4. I will be pulling and load testing the main also.
  14. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I don't remember exactly. I think it said .75ohms but I was in such a rush I didn't wrote anything down or get a pic. Main battery voltage Aux battery voltage This one confused me. This was reading from the positive on the main battery terminal (with aux still connected), and the main...
  15. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I had abput 3 minutes to mess with it earlier. Disconnected the grounds off of the main battery, and separated them so they were all isolated. Touching multimeter from main battery + to passenger fender mounted ground showed continuity. Seems to be a short, right? Not sure if it's in the...
  16. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Wouldn't a hot starter drawing high current pop the fuse again when I started it after swapping to the N4 fuse? It starts just fine with the button. Hot or cold. It only pops the fuse when the ESS tries to start it. I'll verify this when I get back to the jeep later, but it doesn't have any...
  17. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

It's a basic relay. Two main wires, and a coil. When the coil receives power, it disconnects the two main wires.
  18. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

I tried to find a PCR relay testing instruction, and can't find anything. As far as I can tell, it's basically an electronic relay that is normal closed (allows batteries to be in parallel), and opens when the relay senses 12V source. When you press the dash switch, the relay opens, which...
  19. 2018 JLU Died during ESS event - found N3 fuse blown. Replaced, blown again.

Not sure why that would matter on auto stop/start vs. a normal start. starter pulls the same amps regardless, right? And the N4 fuse I switched to is the same as the N3 (150A), so you'd think it would pop them both if the starter was drawing too many amps. Something is spiking the amperage...
