  1. Key fob not Detected, fob not operating

I can drive the vehicle. I just have to press the fob into the starter, as if the battery in the fob was dead. Then, she starts up and drives normally. Actually, I now have to add "HAD to press the fob..." because the issue has resolved, at least temporarily. After my passenger got out of the...
  2. Key fob not Detected, fob not operating

Thanks for the reply. I can rule out the battery issue since I switched out the battery in one and both fobs provide no functionality. Update- this morning all the same symptoms still exist but in addition, I had a passenger exit from the right front seat and I get a message stating "Key Fob...
  3. Key fob not Detected, fob not operating

This morning my JLU Sport did not start up using the push start button ignition. I had to use the fob pressing the start button, as directed by prompts on the cluster display. When I exited after driving I noted that the vehicle did not respond to remote locking. I didn't have the Jeep locked...
  4. First Oil Change: How Many Miles/Oil Preference?

I was staring at 7,500 miles odometer reading and 30% oil life on the vehicle data readout. Being my first oil change, I couldn't push it to 10K in good conscience but that's possibly just me being superstitious. As for any metal filings and manufacturing debris, my assumption is this will be...
  5. 2019 Jeep Colors revealed, including New BIKINI color

Not sure why there isn't a green...Mojito or otherwise. Also agree about the blue option. That chief color from a few years back was the best.
  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

My last jeep was a TJ so forgive my ignorance but This spot on the tailgate is to hold a beer, right?
  7. Sneak Peek: Springtail Tailgate Folding Table and MPAC Rack

I was excited to see this as well since I'm looking for something like this but I must agree with the others who are pointing out the size of that logo cutout. It would look a lot better if you reconsidered the size of that thing. Best of luck with the product, though!
  8. Soft Sunrider Question - Driving at 80MPH

I had my top in sunrider position today and noticed I was at 80 mph, which made me think twice about the top but I saw no noticeable difference than at, say 70. I always use the straps after reading a few horror stories of cross winds catching the top and damaging the structure.
  9. 2.0L turbo Jeep Wrangler JL Delivered Today

True, no maintenance free engines. But DI engines require that additional expensive cleaning, further eliminating savings gained from increased fuel efficiency. We're not even discussing the price of rebuilding a failed turbo. Saying it's really not a big deal is a generalization. Walnut...
  10. 2.0L turbo Jeep Wrangler JL Delivered Today

I think there are a lot of findings that show the soot and deposit buildup in GDI turbo engines is characteristic of the direct injection design itself. A problem with the designs at this point is that engineers are building to hit a spec and that spec is increased fuel efficiency, not long term...
  11. 2.0L turbo Jeep Wrangler JL Delivered Today

Noted and thanks. Sorry if I sounded abrupt but so many posts are simply made with no further intent other than contradiction. To add to my observations, one theory is that the damage from carbon and soot buildup endemic in turbo GDI (not diesel as I mistakenly said previously) is especially...
  12. 2.0L turbo Jeep Wrangler JL Delivered Today

So the only thing you agree with me about is the part that you can use to then argue against the rest of my statement? This is why I love the internet. My statement, while possibly "deductive fallacy" is based on laboratory research. But I think you're missing the thrust of my comments. The...
  13. 2.0L turbo Jeep Wrangler JL Delivered Today

Always the worrisome thing about the Internet and forum chatter- "I had one and mine is fine/I had one and it was trash, therefore..." These statements are anecdotal. There will be buildup issues with any direct injection delivery system in a turbo engine. There is plenty of evidence to support...
  14. Gas mileage so far

I haven't read thru this thread so I have no idea where I stack up but here's my experience over 3,000 miles in my JLUS with 245 75 AT stock tires and no drivetrain modifications. I'm right at 22.5 MPG lifetime, with the last 1,000 miles getting 23 MPG. This is my daily driver, suburban daily...
  15. Who makes these grilles?

Just use the ignore function already Ok? They're ugly.
  16. Who makes these grilles?

You do realize, of course, that this is also an opinion. And, it's hyperbole. I'm not shoving anything down anyone's throat and you can disagree if you want. Aesthetically, it's a step down. Janis Joplin can sing better than Yoko Ono. Norman Rockwell can paint better than Mark Rothko. Jeep...
  17. Who makes these grilles?

So often in this day and age people voice their opinion and then say "to each their own, go for it if you like it!" Why? There is good taste and bad taste and it's ok to delineate between the two. We also know people are capable of making their own decisions so there is no need to apologize for...
  18. Driving on the Beach

Turn off traction control. You don't want one tire with more torque for the same reason that you don't want big lugged tires. The tendency will be for that tire to dig in. Instead, you want continuous momentum and power to all tires equally. Also, lower gearing means slower speeds but also less...
  19. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Sent my info as well. Not sure when I'll have a chance to get in to the dealer but will update when I do.
  20. Should I pay $500 over invoice for a Punk'n color Rubicon 2 door or wait?

What color does she like? Sounds like that's the green light. Look for a Sport and get your butt in a Jeep! I don't know what you're driving now but I'm thrilled to be back in a Wrangler after way too long. Side note- my Jl is orange (FCA- why the dumb color name?) and it's clearly the best...
