Yep, tossed out the attorney word. We are both speculating what their policy is in regards to handling consumer complaints. Bet it went a hole lot different than just a casual inquiry. Enough so that the OP threatened to go to the State Attorney General cause he wasn’t getting his way.

Sounds like you tossed out the attorney threat first in a later comment. The person did what they are supposed to do. If you hire a lawyer then they are done talking with you at that level and will be best served not to work on your vehicle until whatever legal matter you bluffed them is...
Most states only require 1 person be in the know of a call being recorded. Wouldn’t really matter which states each party is in. If car was purchased in callers state that would be the state with legal jurisdiction.
