I heard nothing but bad things about the diesel. even less power than the 3.6. Could be just people talking but the service manager at our Jeep dealer is a friend and he told me the diesel is not what everyone thinks.

Mines not that bad, 1st gear is short and has plenty of power, I dont even want to think about being in low range and 1st gear. but after i get out of first the gears are very long and i need more then 2k rpm's to have any power. and driving around in 4th gear at 55 MPH is not something uncommon...
