Iām in no hurry. Stock clutch with no issues. I want my dealership to do as many of these as possible before I decide to take it in, let others be the guinea pigs. Besides there will be that much more life left in the new parts the longer I wait. Sure, the risk is it could burn to the ground...
Had a red battery warning 2.5 years after both batteries were replaced under factory warranty. Stop/Start caution āService Soonā light is on now after that. Jeep never had issues starting/running.
I did not know this but seems kinda shady. Both batteries replaced under factory 3yr/36K...
Yep. Why Iām leaning towards it but the Overtrail model instead. Prefer V6 and donāt want any kind of battery assist. But itās a lot more $$$ vs the Yota. Weāll see. Good thing neither will be widely available the first couple of years as thatās about when Iād be ready to get one or the other.
I donāt trust the service departments at the 3 stealerships close to me. Iāll be taking my 18 JLUR to the dealer I bought it from. Butā¦ā¦I will wait many many months before I do that. Iāll let the service department practice on other peoples Wranglers first š¤£. My JLUR is bone stock 37k on the...
Correct that was part of the initial recalls I guess to do that standard test.
If I remember correctly if it failed the "stress" test they wouldn't let you drive it and would keep it.
If you haven't been in already for the earlier recalls then I would go in. If you've already been in for the test where they basically burn up your clutch to see if it holds then install a small sleeve around a hose then there's nothing to do other than wait until April or whenever Stellantis...
In the meantime make sure you have a fire extinguisher in the Jeep and don't store anything valuable in it. Also, may want to document any accessories or aftermarket parts you have on it. You'll be glad to have that list for insurance if the thing self combusts.
I installed the Mopar hood...
The dealers are always THE last people to get up to speed on TSB's and Recalls. They aren't proactive about keeping up to date on stuff, you'd think they would be. Then again I guess they aren't incentivized to do so. Factory warranty work for them is low margin so I guess that's why they...
If all the clutches are replaced Iāll wait to have it done by my dealer later rather than sooner. Iāll let them mess up other peoples clutches first so they can learn before doing mine.
So the steel steering box TSB referred to a track bar replacement not the damper. I had the damper replaced in 2019, V41. Not sure if there is a newer damper out since then though. I will have to call the dealer back to get the track bar replaced since they read the TSB wrong and didnāt do it.
I have an FCA (now Stellantis) Lifetime Warranty on my 2018 so a warranty extension of 8 years or 90k miles means nothing to me. My warranty is forever. Iāll never sell this Jeep so itāll be used until itās condemned or totaled.
On a different note I had the steering box (steel box) replaced...
With the Mopar lock you cannot ride around with the hood closed and unlocked. You can take the key out when the hood is open though. Once you close the hood itās locked again. So the dealer is correct. I just installed this today and thatās how it works.

The Mopar part comes almost 100% dissembled. The paper instructions are good but youāll need to watch Quadratecās Mopar locking gas...
2018 JLUR
I donāt use Start/Stop much but I do want it to work. It wasnāt working due to āBattery Chargingā warnings. I had zero issues with the batteries, no bad battery symptoms. So I took it in and the dealer said both batteries are bad. The JLUR was exactly 3 years old with about 22,000...
No shock here. I called the dealer asked if they knew about the recall and had the software update. They said yes should take about 30min to update. So I scheduled an appointment to go in and wait on the update.
One and a half hours later they come out and tell me thereās an update but FCA...
