I forgot to reply to this thread so long ago. I attempted to install the exhaust tip to no avail - including with grease and gentle hammering with a mallet. There is simply no way this tip is going on the exhaust without some pretty heavy blows with the mallet, and I wasn't willing to do that...

I know what I'm experiencing is not happening in the stereo. I can turn the stereo off completely, and it still happens. It's also limited to a specific range of MPH, it doesn't happen all the time or at any speed - it is most noticeable/alarming between 60mph and 65mph.
