It was not the battery leaking, or no signs of that anyway. No large inverter as well other than the stock one that I never use.
I suspect it was almost laying on the CAT and that just did it in. I'm not 100% sure though as the dealer swapped it out, and they didn't give me a lot of details.
I could not agree more with you! POS for sure. only 5 years and ~68k miles. I was not expecting something like this to fail so quickly.
No starts! sounds like I was almost stranded in the woods. The first symptom was early morning while wheeling. Limped it over a mountain pass to get it back to...
This is my first Jeep, so I don't have a lot of history on what goes bad when :) I'm learning as I go haha
Nice set up on the battery you got there. Looks great, and yes the welding wire seems way better. Maybe a bit of rerouting away from the CAT as well!
Hi all, I searched all over about JL ground strap issues, and did not find a lot relating to my symptoms. Maybe this is a bazar one off for me, but if anyone is experiencing weird electrical issues check the ground strap from the back of the engine/head over to the body above the CAT. Right hand...
Hi @SJSRubicon Sorry to hear you are having these issues :( I have the V6 BTW. They changed my drive train control module and that fixed if for about a year, but now its starting to act up again. I put a Z Locker OEM on the rear a while ago, but still see the error, so trying on the front now...
Thanks @4xFUN I am installing this today and was wondering why mine was hitting the fuel tank skid :) I didn't want to start cutting until I found some confirmation this was really needed! I watched a YouTube video of another guy installing this on his 2-door Rubicon, and no trimming. Not sure...
My symptoms were exactly like yours. On and off a lot while off-road, and got the point where it would come on while driving on streets sometimes. I always worried my lockers would fail on a trail too. It sucks it happen to you :(
I feel your pain about the dealer not being able to reproduce. I...
For me the dealer changed the drive train control module and the transfer case control module. I'm not sure what one fixed it because they did both at the same time.
Sorry for the late reply, but I was able to drive mine and use the lockers for about 1.5 months before the dealer figured it out. Hope you got yours fixed!
Both of those rattled on mine too. Ripped them both out :) its just hiding a drain hose. I'd rather see the hoses than hear the covers! Mine was held on by a few pieces of double sided foam tape.
Thats exactly when mine started. Wheeling in the mud/water.
Mine still warned long after it dried out though, and since i was doing the Rubicon I didn't want to take the chance it might completely fail in the middle of the trail
That seems extreme for a intermittent warning. I agree with @JoeValkIS it sounds electrical in nature. At least for me the module changes fixed it, but in the work of that they could have fixed a wiring issue too
FWIW my issue was the front locker from what the dealer told me.
Jeff do...
Bummer Jeff, hopefully you can get yours fixed quicker that mine :) Three times to the dealer before they finally fixed it. I have a feeling it was the drive train control module. I found other threads in JK forums having locker warnings due to that. Seems like very few JL have the issue though...
Update its fixed! :like:
If anybody has this issue in the future the dealer installed a new drive train control module and a new transfer case control module. Not sure what one fixed the issue but its gone! I think they got tired of me returning the Jeep and threw everything they could at the...
Hi everyone i'm glad I found this thread! I thought I was going crazy hearing that sound in a brand new Jeep. Mine has done it since new 2018 JL manual. I thought for a long time it was just me getting used the the manual again and lugging it a bit, but the wife bought a 2019 automatic with only...
