I did get the factory mounts from Mopar. Don't remember the part numbers but a search will find them quickly. It's a different number for each one. I haven't installed them yet, life has gotten in the way for the past few months. I will need to ream out the bumper to fit the sensors as the...
They're from a JK, that jeep died an early death a pickup pulled out in front of my wife and she t-boned it. We had to go to South Dakota from Calif to find another Punk'n.
Fins and things and hells revenge. My wife did fins and things when we went to Moab after buying her sport. I'd put rubicon springs and shocks on it and 33's. She had never driven off road and drove all of it with me spotting once in awhile.
We got a sport as I didn't think it was worth the extra cost for a Rubicon. If you're planning on getting off road regularly get the rubicon. Just for the axles, lockers, higher fenders, etc... Also get the trailer package, it is far more than a hitch and wiring harness.
So I was able to pick up some of the mounts needed for the sensors on the OEM bumper today, the rest are on order. It appears that the hole should be just over one inch in diameter. The holes on the Ironman 4x4 bumper are 0.89, looks like a reamer is in my future. :)
I've searched and searched and haven't found a post that notes the size of the back up sensor hole for the factory steel bumper. I bought an Ironman 4x4 bumper, it has holes for the sensors but they aren't the right size to mount the sensors. Just trying to figure out the size I need to...
Did you install the back sensors on the new rear bumper? Got one for my wife's sport mode. Ironman mounts won't work with the jeep sensor, neither will the mounts from the sports plastic bumper. I'm guessing that the mopar steel bumper mounts will work but I haven't gotten them to try yet.
I just used the bolts on the bottom of the bumper to attach the lights. They aren't the same height due to the trailer plug but it was simple and has worked well.
Well I was right behind a rollover accident with a driver pinned in a van that hit the truck yesterday on my drive to work. Truck caught fire, a fire extinguisher may have helped. Took fire 30 minutes to arrive and there was no way to get the pinned driver out of the van.
Planning on ordering one, any idea if a flush mount light could be made to work? We have small lights under the stock bumper now. It really needs backup lights as the stock lights on the sport model suck.
