I've been running the anti rev hang tune in the rain and snow and have had no issues with the tires slipping. The Jeep now responds like every other manual vehicle I've driven.
For what it's worth... I've found that after disconnecting the battery to reset the pcm, the rev hang just about disappears. Then it creeps back and gets progressively worse the more the truck is driven.
I debated the spare PCM but ended up just sending in my stock PCM and am hoping the communistwealth of Massachusetts inspection doesn't notice. Once they received it, it took 2 days to unlock and 3 days through UPS ground. You can also opt for quicker shipping if you need.
The 87 tune wasn't...
For what it's worth, I ran the pulsar on my truck for a week until it randomly threw me into limp mode on a back road. Sent it back immediately after that and am now happily running the Livernois 93 tune.
I guess I'm in the minority on this one, 19k miles on my JLUR and I'm ready for an auto. Its a brutal combination between the tall gearing, rev hang and slow throttle response. 1st gear is really short, which I completely understand is for crawling. 2nd through 4th are too tall. The pentastar is...
This is the first vehicle in 18 years of driving manuals that I've experienced this characteristic. Even my 2013 Wrangler was better. It should not take 3-4 seconds for the throttle to drop between shifts at higher rpms. Might be an excuse to get a 392...
@Livernois Motorsports
You guys make any progress on the rev hang issue? Between that and trying to get my steering fixed I'm ready to trade in this truck...
I brought my Jeep in today to get the ball rolling on the TSB but was told the parts won't be available until December and they will look into it at the next oil change. Looks like a lot of members here have already had the new steering box installed though. Hoping @JeepCares can help me out!
USAFREODRetired - thanks for the review! Would you please comment on the rev-hang characteristics with the new tune? Do the RPMs drop quicker when you shift?
My truck will take up to 3 seconds for the RPMs to drop after I take my foot off the gas and it completely ruins the driving experience...
I had my JLUR into the dealer today for the first oil change and asked them to investigate the warning. I'm seeing it in second gear even before I shift to 3rd above 32mph. They informed me FCA is aware of the bug and is working on a fix, same with the random weather warnings. No timeline given...
