I did ask I if they could just upgrade me to a different headunit, but they said no for the very reasons you mentioned. So, I have a 2019 vehicle, with about 1995 audio technology in it.
I have a 2019 with the 8.4ā screen. NAV usually places me 5-25 miles away from my current location. Satellite radio doesnāt work either, even with refresh signal from Sirius. Anyone else have this problem?
There are no defects with the 8.4ā screen. NAV doesnāt work, nor satellite radio in my 2019. 2018 models had same issues. If you like your Ram, stick with it.
I had a 2018 with the 7ā screen. CarPlay NAV apps would fail often, unable to speak hands-free as well. After multiple software upgrades and a head unit replacement, regional warranty group offered to swap my vehicle for a 2019 with 8.4ā screen.
NOW, not only does the CarPlay NAV not work...
I have already been to the dealer. Known defect, a STAR report has been filed. Dealer is replacing the head unit.
Very disappointing, I returned my ā18 JL after 11 months after similar issues. Now ā19 model, and the problems are worse.

Iāve made 5 trips to local Jeep dealers, and more than I care to count, calls to Jeep Wave, and there is no STAR case, or even a record of my issues with Jeep Wave.

Took it back to the dealer yesterday for the 4th time in three months, for a software upgrade. Got in the Jeep, it didnāt recognize the iPod that was plugged into the center console, and my iPhone had to be reconnected. And, the problems Iāve been having are still there.
Tomorrow will be my 4th trip to a dealer to have this looked at. Iām on my 2nd dealer which is a whole different story.
