Thanks for the compliment, it's been a long time coming and I finally built the garage of my dreams (that's actually the small side, I collect old cars and mostly trucks). No Jeeps don't Suck, I was just exaggerating, the quality sucks, they're way over prices, but like you, we love them...
It's a Jeep, you're just not used to owning a Jeep. First let me tell you that I have 5, a 62 Willys pickup, a CJ, a TJ, a JK and I have a 2018 JL Sahara. It's very simple: Jeeps SUCK.....as far as quality, you're going to have steering issues, you're going to have lots of issues with quality...
I've read all of the replies, here is what I suggest:
Post the name of the dealer on the forum, JUST LIKE THE DEALER, FELLOW JEEP OWNERS CAN CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT TO EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER.
No, don't even think about a JK over a JL, I currently own both. The JL is light years ahead, the power difference, the ride and the electronics are amazing compared to the JL, AMAZING!
Not that I'm shitting on the Jk, I currently own a TJ, a JK, a JL and a 62 Willys pickup.
What you need to...
Kevin, you nailed it! Definitely the visor, it's like the noise comes out of the back of the visor, bounces off the windshield and sounds like it's the dash, you saved me a lot of work! Simple piece of felt and it's perfect! THANKS A LOT!!!
I love (loved) my JL, but the dash rattles like crazy, it sounds like it's coming from just above or around the center console screen. Anyone else have this problem? It's maddening, if I can't fix it, it has to go! I guess I bought too soon.
Thanks for the help!
Hi Mike,
The setup that I have (315/70/17) definitely won't work with the stock rims, you hit it right on the head, you need more of an offset to avoid any rubbing inside. I think you may be ok with the 285/75/17's, they're not as wide, but don't go by just me, check with a tire company to be...
No worries: No no issues at all, the standard mount is just fine, I had the same tires on my JK never had an issue with the tailgate, I didn't have to move the light, it fits just right. For the back up camera, I just cut the very center circle out of my cap and the camera fits right inside...
About 2" past the fender, what I like the most is that without a lift the drive is perfect! I've got 2 other lifted jeeps, they drive well but nothing like this.
No rubbing at all, if it's a driver go with the 315's, if you're going to off road at all I'd go with the 285's to give you just a little extra, but I'm at 4K miles, no issues. Spare fit perfectly, it sits right on the bumper, no squished, it sits perfectly and the carrier is fine, I had these...
No, the tire fits perfectly on the bumper it doesn't push down on it, it just rests perfectly. I didn't have to move the light, it's just right. I have these exact tires and rims on my JK (I've got a TJ, 2 JK's and the new JL) and it never ever gave me a problem with the door mount. My son's...
I've got 4,000 miles on mine now, 35" Duratracs (315's) No Lift, no rubbing issue yet! Don't get me wrong, if you go off road they will probably rub but for normal everyday use mine have been fine, plenty of power, smooth straight ride.
Nice! Both look really good, I'm a fan of the all Black but both look great!
Did you have the dealer do the calibration? I'm running 315/70/17 (about 34.5") and I love them, no rub whatsoever, I didn't care about the calibration but I didn't realize that it would shift better.
Thanks!
