Holy smokes, is that what we are thinking in terms of delivery now? Or are you implying that 12-18 months will be when some of the chip shortage pressures abate? I'm debating buying a Wrangler @ MSRP this weekend, off the lot, vs. ordering. I don't mind being patient, but a Bronco style wait is...
Hey OP, where'd you get your JL from if you don't mind me asking? Trying to figure out which dealers around here are actually helpful vs. not at all. I have a bunch that are more or less local - Salerno Duane, Nielsen, Beyer, Autoland, Global, Liccardi and I'm sure some others - and am amazed by...
@7Nations Oh man, I'm sure I've seen your JLU on the Salerno lot. They're my local guys, and I've been going through that lot since February, ha. They had a nice Ocean Blue JLU Sport come in right around Memorial Day. I've been seeing more and more JLs in the area in general, which is awesome...
Nice! Is that a JL or JLU? Was at Global earlier today but didn't see it. Been waiting patiently for the first couple of 2 doors to hit the dealers around here.
Most likely the former to improve fuel economy. Every little bit ultimately adds up to a couple hundred pounds or more in the aggregate.
As for why this didn't crop up during design or testing is pretty strange. That it wasn't a concern during the design phase would indicate that a part may...
Rest assured, the number of owners with this issue is significantly greater than 9. The average owner doesn't participate in a forum, and I think the majority of owners don't even know what internet forums are. Seriously, my parent's friends get their news from newspapers (really!), and if they...
"Star Case" status sounds promising, at least.
Anyone know if the Jeeps in OP's FB group had their steering columns replaced as well? It sucks that the onus is falling on us as consumers to do so, but I would make sure that these service managers start talking to one another in a bid to...
To those of you who are currently having issues, have you been able to figure out what was done to the JLs in OP's Facebook group to solve their respective problems? Just seems bizarre that some owners have reportedly had their issues addressed, but no one in this thread knows exactly how...
Lol. Can relate. I was hoping to enjoy Memorial Day Weekend with the top down in a new JL. Have been to dealerships with checkbook in hand but keep holding back due to this issue. And as much as I have tried to do so, I just cannot convince myself to get into a JK for the time being, and almost...
If these adjustments were made on a new JLU before they gave you possession, I'm guessing there needs to be a TSB/Recall coming soon for the rest of the JL fleet. Too bad they didn't share additional info. That would've been helpful. But understand that they are still inspecting/investigating.
I know, but #236 suggests a further update as well. I hope #234 isn't the extent of it. Would be nice to have additional details on what the software update actually fixed, if it is indeed the solution (i.e. what the culprit was to begin with).
Well then, definitely looking forward to Kevin8086's update. I'm not exactly optimistic, as a firmware or software update seems like an overly simplistic solution to an issue that appears to be more mechanical in nature, but holding out hope that it could be enough to warrant picking up a JL...
I've driven many BMWs (also recently leased a 335i), as well as other brands that feature adaptive steering that is sensitive to a vehicle's speed, but that's not what is happening here. It looks like the JL's steering is actually locking at speed, not just becoming heavier or lighter based on...
For those of you who have taken your JL's to the dealer for this specific issue, have you received any preliminary diagnostic feedback on what the root cause may be, and on any prospective fixes? I can deal with backup cameras acting wonky and the like, but this has kept me from buying a JL (and...
