Brake hold. Yeah a feature that, if you don’t know it exists, seems like a problem. That’s why I had to make it “off” by default on newer firmware versions.
Brake hold, when active, holds pressure to the brakes while relieving pressure when you apply them; which makes the pedal feel “soft” while the ABS system holds the brakes for you. Since the valves are holding fluid pressure to the calipers and blocking pedal pressure, the pedal fluid has...
The ABS fault message I tried to blank but the instrument cluster wont let me. It's not in fault state; its a temporary diagnostic mode where I'm able to hold brake pressure. No harm, any ABS command will flag that warning. There is no event log for diagnostics so nothing is saved there.

That’s the text number. I have about 20 texts to get to tonight… yours may be one of them. But in the morning Ian will answer them all if you don’t hear from me tonight.
Please text, email or Facebook message us. For something like this, either Samantha or Ian can help you get it sorted and cleared. Sounds like a Mac failed update.
I actually applied for a patent on this 2 years ago before I tried to make it work. Due to how the ABS controller works I was unable to make it happen. I can brake front or rear or both but controlling left and right independently for more than just pulses just wasn’t happening.
I don’t give up...
^^noted. I have. 4XE myself for the purposes of Tazer compatibility yet I probably didn’t convey the importance of the whole procedure to the tech writer. I’ll get that cleared up. Thank you for the tip :)
But it’s not broken…
Same initialization procedure needs to be done no matter what tuner you use. This will set codes. You clear them. That’s how it works.
dealer tool, Tazer, ecri, jscan, etc all will have the same steps on the 4XE, assuming their code includes the right functions.
I think my answer was a little misunderstood. It’s not an issue. It’s a function of how the 4XE works, and this is specific ONLY to the 4XE. In order for the ABS system to accept any changes it needs to be re-initialized (which happens during the full reboot on 4XE) and that sets several codes...

we may need to make this more clear in the user manual, but the 4XE has a very specific set of steps to making it change tire size without all the warning lights:
must be on firmware 11.2.7
marry, set new size.
scroll to full reboot and select it. Need to be on level ground with your FOOT...
