I purchased a replacement mesh style (American Flag) grill to install in my 2018 JL Wrangler Rubicon with a 2.0 turbo motor. I was about to install it and I read an article about the Gladiator grill having wider holes in its grill to provide better cooling - especially when towing. So I got to...
I read this same article about the wider slots for the Gladiator grill.
I have a 2018 JL Rubicon with the 2.0 turbo motor and have purchased a mesh grill replacement insert (American flag). However, it has much smaller holes for air passage so after reading this article I got concerned that...
Has anyone noticed any difference with engine operating temperature with the new grill? I have the same flag for my JL Rubicon grill and my Wrangler also has the 2.0 turbo so I am sensitive to engine temperature. Do the smaller holes in the grill adversely affect the temperature of the engine?
Have you noticed any problems with engine operating temperature with the new grill? I bought the same grill shown in your pictures (thanks for the install tip by the way - great idea!). My concern rises of the more narrow holes in the new grll as opposed to the factory grill. Just want o be sure...
I am in somewhat of rare position to respond in that we have in our garage right now a 3.6L pentastar in my 2015 Ram Laramie - factory ordered for this specific configuration and we also have a 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon two-door 2.0 turbo - also factory ordered for this configuration. I have to...
When my order was in process - the inspection phase was the longest phase - it took just over 3 weeks. I agree - no sense in rushing that aspect of the build process, We have had our turbo Rubicon since August and knock on wood - not one problem.
I agree completely - and I was supplying information - last June I might add - who keeps comments from 5 months ago? - he's the one who should lighten up. And just like "dude" - "snowflake" doesn't work either. As you siad this is an informational forum - no need for labels....
Well, I have not been on in awhile but I see you are still caught up in your "theory". You seriously need to let this go. I doubt individual postings on an obscure vehicle forum drive this type of reaction from FCA. There were numerous problems with the turbo launch as evidenced by the fire that...
I think the Rubicon with 4.10 gears and definitely heavier overall vehicle weight is at a disadvantage compared tot he Sahara and Sport models. We have been averaging about 20 MPG with 87 octane - have a tank full at 93 and we'll see how this goes.
I agree - we just took delivery on a Rubicon we ordered for my wife for that very reason - it was the only 2-door version that had all the options she wanted. She test drove the 4-door Sahara but didn't like the longer wheel base.
