  1. Vehicle Recovery Gone Wrong shows a connection to Matt's Off-Road Recovery

I think the direct connection to Matt's through eye-witnesses, the deceased man's wife no less, whom were actually there is new and worthwhile information. There's been lots of analysis on what went wrong and I've certainly not read everything written on this subject on the internet, but I have...
  2. Vehicle Recovery Gone Wrong shows a connection to Matt's Off-Road Recovery

Very interesting read from Bob Wohlers, publisher of "The Total Approach to Getting Unstuck Off-Road." According to witnesses of the vehicle recovery the participants were discussing their strategy and ended up executing what they'd seen on Matt's Off-Road Recovery videos. The events of that...
  3. What’s downside to 392 outside of cost and mpg

Weight is 100% an issue. The nose being heavier effects the behavior of the vehicle on a climb and a descent regardless of the terrain. The extra weight pushing down creates more vertical load pressure on the tires which will matter in any type of compression terrain such as sand, mud or snow.
  4. Has anybody ever regretted buying a Wrangler?

Sums it up better than anything I've read- https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a15130489/make-mine-a-jeep-pj-orourkes-ode-to-the-wrangler/

  6. Moab Downfall

Moab is still incredible!!! Yes, it's gotten more crowded, but it's also gotten more services and better restaurants etc.. everything that comes with having the people ($) to support it. It's still some of the most amazing off-roading you can find concentrated in any one place in North America...

  9. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

I think you nailed it! I'm one of those who in the past have said I'd pay $15 -20K more for a factory Hemi, but that was before the Bronco. @JeepCares take a look at my CJ by my username- look at my 2020 Rubi below that already has an ARB Bumper, Dual Air Compressor and drawer system, Warn...
  10. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

    That's real competition
  11. Jeep Introduces New 6.4-liter V-8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept

I think this article sums it up well-- none of this means anything anymore until that word "concept" is dropped. It's not even that exciting really, in a way it pisses me off. I'm tired of Jeep introducing these and then not producing them- it's like know we want it, showing it can be done...
  12. Bronco vs Jeep Wrangler mega thread

Sure looks like a Jeep competitor to me- that thing is pretty bad ass. If the aftermarket gets behind it anywhere close to the way they do the Jeep- it will without a doubt steal sales.

I've wondered if this was possible- is it an ARB pre-cleaner? Would you mind posting a picture? Thank you!
  15. Anyone have 2.0 Turbo regret?

Just got back from Moab- drove from Denver with the wife and dog and a little over-packed for a 3-day weekend. We came through Eisenhower Tunnel at over 11,000 feet, was doing 80+ on I-70 across the flats in Western Utah, wheeled over 50 miles of trails in Moab, then drove back. I've been...
  16. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

I'd pay $15K on top of a spec'd out Rubicon if it had a hemi from the factory or something like what's in the Ford Raptor- a twin-turbo v6. I love Jeep Wranglers, but I've never driven one that didn't feel underpowered; in particular once you modify it and pack it for a weekend of camping. Jeep...
  17. Official Denver Area Group

Welcome! You'll be surprised where that Sport will go!; especially with the way you are setting it up. Some good tire placement, an awareness of where your diffs are relative to the terrain underneath so they don't get hung up, and a willingness to go slow and pick your line and you'll be just...
