My 2018 was displaying a message AUX switches not available, battery is charging. That was happening for a couple of weeks and then one day the Jeep wouldn't start. I had to get a jump start and took it in to the dealer. They replaced both batteries under warranty.
I just leaned my windshield forward a couple inches and wedged a rag in there to hold it in place while I installed the spiderwebshade. Didn't have to lower it all the way.
Hard top does fit over the Spiderweb Shade. I installed mine and it just stays on all the time. When the hardtop is on it blocks out the white and looks like you have a headliner. I can't say about the soft top because I don't have one. You have to order the one for a hard top. There will...
It looks great. I'm interested but can you still fit the freedom panels and the bag under the slipstream cover? I remove my panels often and put them in the back. It's a tight fit so I'm curious if they will still fit.
I have the Ace rock sliders and they allow you to leave the Rubicon rails on. I think it looks cool with the double stack. My daughter uses them as steps to get in. I'm tall enough to just step in without using them as steps, but they do work that way if you need it.
Reading this makes me glad I went with the hard top only. I had to get a hoist in my garage and it takes a little effort to go topless but I think it's worth the effort. It's super easy to lift up the glass window and put stuff in the back.
The Racor is great but I did some modifications. I added the metal cogs from Topsy and I used larger diameter and longer lag bolts to go in my joists. The metal cogs are comforting to have but not absolutely necessary. The full load is only on the cogs when the hoist is lowered all the way to...
Racor with Topsy kit. I replaced the plastic hubs that came with the Racor with metal ones from Topsy. I also used 3" good quality lags to mount in the joists. The 2" ones that come with the Racor didn't seem to be sturdy enough. I use my cordless drill to raise and lower it and it works...
I didn't order keyless entry because of the $. I spent that $500 on other accessories. It is a nice feature for the ladies who carry the fob in a purse and don't want to search for it. I'm a man so it's in my pocket and easily accessible when I need to lock/unlock the doors.
My first mod on my Rubi was Ace Engineering Rock Sliders. My daughter uses them as steps to get in and I like that they protect my Jeep from door dings from careless drivers that park too close to me. I also added a spiderweb shade. It's nice to not have the hot TX sun beating down on me when...
Most of the good stuff will be covered with snow. I was on Imogene Pass in September and it started snowing on us at the top of the pass. Have fun and be safe.
