On the new frame mounted ones, do the OEM rock sliders come off or do they mount over them?

The freedom panels on the JK had a little tab, about the size of a domino, that you could flip down to take the space of the lip of the rear part of the hard top. Is that there on the JL freedom panels? If so, I would be 99% sure that you could run them alone.

Just ordered last week. Hope there's no delay on LED. After having to get out and light the candles on the front of my JK :cwl:, I'll wait for good lights!

For hitch mounted, I would go 1up. What I did for my JK, and will move over to my JL, is got a 2X6, cut to correct length to fit and attached fork mounts that I picked up from amazon. I keep whichever bike I'm riding inside the jeep. Protected from the weather and idiots.

It shouldn't fade like the plastic ones do.

I'm going with painted. I was the original owner of an '07 JK sahara up until about 3 weeks ago. The black bumpers turned grey. I think the fact that the fenders were painted and didn't fade kept my jeep newer looking than other ones I saw with faded bumpers and fenders. I'm also getting steel...
