Anyone have any input on Desert Rat for parts/install? Don't see them mentioned, but online reviews that I've seen were decent IIRC. Was thinking of using them for the AEV Dualsport.
Apologies on derailing the thread, but what are your overall opinions (all of you here and anyone else that has it for that matter) on the Smittybilt HD pivot tire carrier as a whole? I'm leaning towards this, but would love to get some forum feedback before I purchase. TIA
OP, what did you end up going with? I'm in the same boat right now in trying to decide between the two. I prefer the design and ease of operations of the TopLift, but I also want to install the Tuffy rear deck enclosure and I've read around here somewhere that they aren't compatible due to...
OP, have you considered getting a Willys or High Tide? If I'm reading the latest build guide correctly, the XR package is standard on High Tide and an option on Willys... you'd get the lift, tires, and gearing you want and LSD, but you won't have lockers or sway bar disconnect. Just a thought.
Yes, as of now that is correct (according to conversations with my dealer). If you want the V6, it's a requirement to add the Recon package to the build.
You'll find plenty of answers both for and against spacers. Tons of people run them with zero issues, but sometimes the hard part is finding a reputable shop who will install 35s and 37s on a 7.5 inch wheel. There are quality spacers out there though, like Synergy, Teraflex, Spidertrax, etc...
If you order the hardtop, it will replace the standard soft top. To get both tops with the Jeep purchase, you'd have to order the dual top group option (gives you the upgraded premium soft top along with the black hard top). It'll arrive at the dealership with the hard top installed and the...
If my math is correct, it looks like invoice pricing on the listed options is approximately 90% of MSRP. I calculated about 5 or 6 of them and all were right around that amount, so if that holds true, the Xtreme Recon invoice price should be just under $3600.
I agree. I was leaning 2.0T too because of lower upfront cost, better fuel economy (albeit with higher cost of premium fuel if I followed recommendations), more torque, and after a few test drives in both engines, I frankly just preferred the feel of it over the 3.6L. Hopefully the 4.56...
Not sure if this has been put out there already, but I also received this info from my dealer while emailing back and forth about the Xtreme package:
"Right now it's only available on the Wrangler Rubicon with the 3.6 w/ etorque engine."
I totally agree... I'm guessing it'll be around $3500ish after all with below invoice pricing. With my previously planned build, I was factoring in approx $5000 in aftermarket wheels, tires, lift, alignment, tire relocation, labor, etc. Now it can all be factory installed and warrantied for...
