Honestly, this has become my preferred open method. Around 15mph, there's not enough air flow to open the top at all, Around 20mph or so, it will open all the way if you give it a "push" up so the air catches underneath. Even then, it opens slowly and doesn't "whip back" or anything. Obviously...
Thought this would lead to a lively discussion. ;)
Anyone played around with the auto-open capability of the soft top into "Sunrider Position"? That is, you flip open the latches while driving, give it a small push, and let the wind catch it and "flip it" back to the open position.
If so, any...
I can now,, without a doubt, state that the steering issues in this thread are absolutely not "a Jeep Thing". I had a 2018 Sahara JLU that I owned for 7 days, and it had awful, scary bad, loose steering, like many people are reporting here. Unfortunately, after just a week of owning it, a tree...
Just a quick note to say I also picked up my Sahara JLU from Craig a couple of weeks ago. Took the train / metro in, and Koons was about 2-3 minutes walk from the Metro stop.
Craig emailed me the evening before my car arrived, and managed to get it all cleaned up and ready that afternoon. It...
Just adding my 2 cents. I went directly from driving a '97 TJ to a 2018 JLU Sahara, and can honestly say that compared to the JLU, my TJ handled like a Lamborghini. The JLU has a huge "dead spot" (3-4 inches of steering change needed before vehicle actually starts turning), and wanders all over...
Yep, airbags do sometimes cause injury, but "on average" they do reduce the overall injury rate / reduce severity of injuries. (because If they didn't - that is, if having an airbag increased the injury rate, manufacturers would be sued out of existence :)
And it is definitely money driven. I'm...
Wow, I guess I hadn't done my homework. I didn't actually realize that the JLU didn't have side airbags in the rear seats. That's nuts!
So in in accident, i'd be fully protected, but my kid could end up with a serious head injury and in a wheel chair for the rest of their life? As a parent, if...
Thanks @JeepCares , looks like the problem took care of itself (although not in the way I'd hoped for!)

Three! The JL, my '97 TJ which the JL was replacing (and I was planning on selling), and my wife's Camry.
I think the tree must have gotten jealous of the new bright green thing in the front driveway and decided to take it out, along with its friends.
Nope, I was sleeping. We'd had a thunderstorm earlier in the evening, but it ended around 10pm or so. The tree actually fell a few hours after the storm, around 2:30am. I heard a noise like a branch falling (happens all the time around here), but didn't actually realize until I got up later that...
Everybody's ok, and no damage to the house.
A big old white oak tree (100+ feet tall) came down in a thunderstorm last night. Took out all three of our cars, including the JL.
I'll post some pics once they get the tree off the car. I'm guessing it's a total loss, as all four doors pretty much...
Just adding a "me too" to this thread. The front USB ports in my 5 day old Sahara have failed. I was using them with Android Auto, but now there's no light / power / connection on the ports. (Double checked w/ several different cables / devices). The other USB ports are still working fine, and I...
Wow, that was quick. I went from D1 a couple of days ago to KZ status today. I'm now in the queue for shipping by truck, although it sounds like that might take a while.
For those that are trying to figure out some sort of pattern to order fulfillment, here's my order info:
Order date: 4/16...
BTW, for anyone still waiting on an order, you can pull the Window Sticker / Build Sheet (if available) directly from the Jeep / Chrysler website, using the following links:
Note: You'll need change "YOUR_VIN" to your VIN...
