  1. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

Hi, I wanted to give everyone an update. FCA asked me to take the Jeep to the dealer. After leaving it there for the morning and some of the afternoon, they "updated the powertrain control and performed a shifter position calibration". So far it seems to have resolved the problem. As to the...
  2. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

Thanks OldGuyNewJeep. Last night I was watching my two boys (7 and 8) say that their favorite color is better, and that their brothers choice was incorrect. After a few minutes of the discussion I explained to them that there is no incorrect choice, that they both have different tastes; and...
  3. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

If I'm reading the document correctly, on the case listed there it says that the issue that it fixes is when switching from 1st gear to neutral. In my case, I'm not in first gear when having this issue. In my case, if I'm driving above 35mph (on 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th gear), and switch to...
  4. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

I found that the radio software version is: 18.23.29, but I'm not sure if that is the version I should be looking at. If you know the exact name of the field I should be looking at, let me know.
  5. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

I feel the same way about the clutch. I feel like by shifting the way I do, I will be able to extend the life of the clutch, and may get a very insignificant advantage at the pump. I guess we all have different ways of doing it. Neither is incorrect, and both both should work without any...
  6. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

I don't mind driving manual transmission as long as I don't run into traffic. The reason why I got a manual, it was not because of the "control" or the "feeling". It was because when I got mine (early March 2018), there were not many available at the dealer, and it was $2000 less than the...
  7. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

I switch to neutral as soon as I notice traffic piling up, or a red light that I will need to stop at. I guess I could start downshifting until I'm below 35mph to avoid the warning, but that seems more of a hassle. I like driving manual transmissions, but not that much!
  8. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

The first few times I heard it, I thought that I was going to be able to live with it. Now I'm not so sure; it's starting to drive me crazy. Not sure if it the error that drives me crazy, or the fact that Jeep does not test for these issues before releasing an update. If you are having an...
  9. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

It only beeps once after shifting to neutral from any gear as long as you are going over 35mph. Since it only beeps once, if you are coasting on neutral you will not hear the warning until the next time you change to it again.
  10. Unbearable...DO NOT UPDATE SOFTWARE IF YOU HAVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

Last week I had the software of my Jeep updated (for continuing issues with the back-up camera guidelines, and incorrect temperature readings on the dashboard), and now I'm getting constant audio warnings each time I change to neutral when going over 35mph. The warning I get says that I cannot...
  11. Hot, but not this HOT!!!

I’m still having the backup camera guidelines fail every once in a while. Hopefully the update resolves both issues. Thanks!
  12. Hot, but not this HOT!!!

That totally makes sense. I had just dropped off the ex!
  13. Hot, but not this HOT!!!

I was driving last week in VA, where it was about 100 degrees, when I noticed the temperature reading in the dashboard. The temperature reading on the 8.4" display was fine. Has anyone else run into this issue?
  14. NEW JL Accessory Ideas for Manufacturers

Thanks Greg. I do the same thing, but it is far from ideal. If loading things every once in a while is no big deal, but since this my daily driver, I would like to be able to use the trunk almost daily. Detaching it twice a day (once to load and again to unload) is a pain. Now that it is winter...
  15. Body parts...

A couple of days ago a Deer decided to hit the side of my Jeep, and now I need to replace a few of the parts. I'm trying to decide if this is something I want to have insurance pay for, or if it is something I should do on my own. While looking at pricing, I found several Online Mopar parts...
  16. Reminder: 5 quarts of oil to avoid oil overfill

That's what they said they were going to do. Not sure if that is how they did it, since I was not able to see them do the work from the waiting area.
  17. Reminder: 5 quarts of oil to avoid oil overfill

Wh When they did this to my car, they flushed all the oil, and re-filled it with the correct amount.
  18. Reminder: 5 quarts of oil to avoid oil overfill

Tell them that the Jl has been out for about a year now. That it may be a good idea for someone at the dealer to read the manual. Attached are the specs from the manual (page 509).
  19. NEW JL Accessory Ideas for Manufacturers

Yeah, if I have to load something that requires the trunk, I end up doing the same thing. Most of the time I just use the back seat. Glad I got the 4 door!
  20. NEW JL Accessory Ideas for Manufacturers

I have a soft top, and hate that I cannot load large items in the trunk without having to slide myself under the rear window, or remove it to access it. Would like to see a rear gate door that includes a frame-less glass window.
