I have just checked back in with this thread and can't believe that you guys dont have your 2 doors yet. There are some miserable bastards that have outstanding orders from early December (if memory serves). Five months. What a debacle!
I truly hope the "any day now" vibe on this thread is...
New owners,, please keep up the "wart reports" about what you think FCA could improve on. While some may have problems about criticizing their purchases, I think most of us have the maturity to maintain pride in the brand AND be able to speak honestly about what could be improved upon...
Makes sense.
I hearby authotize FCA to produce Dark Green exterior, yet Light-Tanned interior Wranglers for Model Year 2019. Get crackin' or I release the Kraken!
I've always wondered why there hasn't been a white interior. With a doors-off convertible, it would be cooler in the sun and help preserve the dash and center console. I can think of a bunch of old classic, no air conditioner cars that used white interiors. Yes, a female dog to keep clean...
I think Drums is just confused on the intent of the thread and let it get personal.
If your Jeep's cabin drain plug holes get clogged with cinnamon and nutmeg dust instead of mud and clay - you might have a mall crawler. (and possibly an unhealthy caffeine addiction)
Thanks, Buttery. Seeing those pics of the sub menus makes me breathe easier. Thanks for the feedback on what the Base Sport has as opposed to what it doesn't.
At this point, I'd be happy to see a confirmation that at least the programming options are there. The combination of an owner who has taken delivery of a Sport with the Trailer Tow/HD Elec is tough to find.
Hey Buttery!
Congrats on the Sport. It looks from your description that you probably have the Uconnect 3.0 system with the 5-inch screen.
Since you have the Trailer tow, could you tell us if you can program those aux buttons via the Uconnect 5-inch?
FCA said no they can't, but I saw...
Dude! Thanks for this reply! I need to edit my posts. Iwas told flat out by FCA that this was not possible.
Now please go buy a winch or spotlights to test this out for us.
That is indeed correct. If you get the Trailer Tow/HD Electrical package that has the 4 AUX buttons you can't use the Uconnect 3.0 to program them. Only 4.0 has that functionality.
Actually, you can change a lot about how the switches function from the Uconnect screen, like...
-Having the button work only when the car is running versus off (Battery vs Ignition)
-Make the button toggle like a like switch or make it "on/run" only when pressed (like a horn.)
-Make the switch...
I did similar math. If I can't delete the options I don't want on the Sport-S then what are they worth to me? That is, not their retail value, but how much would I personally value these packaged "features" that, like leeches, have adhered themselves to you when all you wanted was to cross...
Update on Uconnect 3.0's ability to program the AUX buttons that come with the Trailer Tow/Heavy Duty Electrical group:
Per FCA (Chrysler Group LLC Customer Assistance)... no, you cannot program the AUX buttons using the 5-inch Uconnect 3.0 screen. Or as they put it: "The Aux 1-4 Switches are...
Well, it looks like the doorman is not letting me into the Base Model Club. I was originally leaning towards the manual soft top Sport w/ A/C, Tow/HD Elec Grp, and Ltd Slip Diff. There are two main reasons I will most likely be opting for the Sport-S.
A) Limitations w/ Uconnect 3.0 (5-inch...
To owners the base model Sport with the Uconnect 3.0 (5-inch) AND have the Trailer Tow/HD Electrical Group....
Are the AUX buttons programmable with the smaller Uconnect 3.0 unit? I know they can be with the 7" & 8.4" Uconnect 4.0, but I am wondering if the buttons can be programmed on-screen...
I tell you what... FCA is really making me feel like a dying breed. I want a 2-door base Sport manual, and it's like I'm asking for a Faberge egg made from a combination of the mithral, hummingbird teeth, and intact sorority girl hymens.
How did building a 2-door Wrangler catch them by...
