I modified the Mopar handles by carving out some of the rubber with a razor blade and attaching a couple of small magnets I bought off Amazon using 3M gasket adhesive.

I didn't reformat the drive, or anything like that. Just transferred the flac files, folders, etc. to the thumb drive.

That sucks having so much rust.
My understanding is that ROAM has changed the coating on the steps and rock sliders. Doesn't help you though...
I recently installed a set of the ROAM rock sliders on my JLUR. Fingers crossed that the new coating works better and they don't rust like yours did.
I've ordered the Roam rock rails. To me they just look the best, and with the frame mounted functionality, none of the other options compared for me.

2500 miles on my JLUR with a July 2018 build date.
Only issue (if you can call it that) was a cracked windshield caused by a rock at highway speeds.
Steering is dead straight with virtually no play. A small amount of input gives a small amount of turn. A joy to drive!
