I am function over form. The 33's are great for the off roading that I do (I don't want to hurt my daily driver).
I really couldn't care less about the look of the rims. I don't see them when I'm behind the wheel!
Well, here is the old 2 door vs 4 door debate. It's a personal decision, guys!
Reasons that I bought a 4 door (traded in 2009 2 door JK):
Ability to tow my 3000 lb (after gear is loaded) camper
Okay, that's the only reason. But, having passengers is nice. They also seem to ride a little...
Mostly, MagGyver.
When I was 20 or so, the Air Force decided to relocate me to Colorado. I bought a brand new YJ (4 cylinder, soft top, pretty much bare bones), and loved it. Colorado is perfect Jeep location. Afternoon thunderstorms are easy to avoid, summer is great, 4WD for winter...
I hate to be that guy, but seriously, paragraphs make that wall of text easier to read. I couldn't get through the post because I kept losing where I was.
I have a pop-up campter that is 2200 lbs dry with it's own brakes. I am so grateful for those as I bring it down I-70 from Eisenhower tunnel towards Denver!
I had a 2013 Sahara, and I didn't have a problem towing it up that climb, but coming down the brakes were a god-send. I had to have a...
Colorado mountains.
I have no desire to see how big of a rock I can get over. I just want to tow my off-road camper up where the crowds thin out. And then go exploring!
I wave at all Wranglers because we have something in common. I don't have much in common with GC or Cherokees. I also don't have much in common with soccer moms.
On the Phone app on the UConnect 7", I have only 2 favorites saved, the wife and best friend.
However, once a week or so they keep clearing and will not show up at all. Really frustrating, and I don't understand why it would happen. Does anyone else have this maddening issue?
My sales guy (who was very pushy) said that a new feature of the JL's is that the small trunk is locked when the tailgate is closed, and that is a new feature.
No, I have it on my 2009 JK. I had to show him.
Very glad you are okay, and that there is no doubt as to liability.
Having said that, can we have a moment of silence for a brother JLUR who passed before his time? Never got to experience offroad, probably didn't even learn to use all 4 wheels to drive! It's a tragedy, a JLUR taken before...
I bought mine off the lot, mainly because the wife said "GO"
Things I would've wanted added:
Proximity Entry
8.4" screen
Safety Group
Yellow. Wife would've hated it, tho
Cost wasn't really an issue, just timing and what was on it:
What I did get:
Alpine speakers
Cold Weather Group (In...
I loved my 2009 JK 2 door. However, I am using it to tow my popup camper, so the 2 door isn't possible. If not for the 4 door, i would still be driving the 10 year old beauty!!
As a resident of South Denver:
I will definitely wave 100% of the time to a modified Wrangler
I will wave 100% of the time to 2 doors (if I see it)
I will wave 100% to CJ's, YJ's, TJ's.
I will wave 100% of the time if they have their top down/off
If it is a 4 door, stock Sport, driven by a...
Leaving it.
The trails that I want to tackle in Colorado aren't that bad, and I really don't need the Rubicon. But, I got it because I needed to tow the popup to places that most people can't get to, and it was worth the extra for the capabilities that I may never need, but I do have!
I have a hard time naming a Wrangler a girl's name. I almost named it Rubi, but my wife's Explorer is Ruby Red, so it's Ruby.
I went with Leroy, so going down a hill I can yell "LEEERRROYYY JENKINS"
