  1. Jeep Wrangler JL vs Lexus LX, Mercedes G-Class, Land Rover Discovery (Motortrend Comparison Review)

I own a Rubicon Unlimited with 2 in lift on 35's and all that jazz, and a Range Rover Velar (bigger brother to the Discovery). The Range is surprisingly capable with 4wd, locking rear diff, low range, adjustable ride height etc, but doesn't hold a candle to the Rubi in capability. And...
  2. Discount Tire: Transfer TPMS sensors or install theirs?

Either keep your tpms or buy mopar ones for the new wheels. If you buy mopar ones youll likely need the dealership service dept to program them. I worked at a dealership, and was in charge of the mod program. We had more headaches with aftermarket tpms than anything else. at the time (june) our...
  3. JL sport not really that bad

The hardware is the same, just different cloth and tinted windows
  4. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

Wheel is a 18x10 with 5in backspacing. Same backspace as Mopar beadlock wheels. Tire is a 37x12.5r18 Toyo rt Just installed ICI magnum RT rear bumper with park sensors. No go. Sensors still pick up the spare tire, if installed correctly. We were able to angle the bumper down enough to clear the...
  5. NEW Jl REAR BUMPER!!!!

Any answer on this? I’m trying to get one of my customers park sensors to work with a 37 spare tire on the Mopar tailgate/carrier kit. The bumper I ordered from another company has brackets but the sensors still see the spare tire. Hoping your bumper won’t have that issue. If it comes with...
  6. Stupid Things Dealers and their Sales People have said about the Wrangler

Haha that sounds good, but I havnt had a Saturday off in 3 years and more than 2 days off in a row since 2013!
  7. Stupid Things Dealers and their Sales People have said about the Wrangler

You know, I see your point, and I agree with you. Please don’t take my posts as an excuse for the car dealer industry. It’s broken on so many levels and it doesn’t have to be. If the dealers could all turn to a customer service based model, instead of the nonsense that is the status quo today...
  8. Stupid Things Dealers and their Sales People have said about the Wrangler

That’s pretty weird, but I will say FCA’s ordering system is total and complete hot garbage. It randomly restricts certain items, makes certain packages unavailable when you select other unrelated packages (for example, no hard tops available when you select auto transmission??). Dealers have no...
  9. Stupid Things Dealers and their Sales People have said about the Wrangler

Oh man I have GOT to chime in here. Upfront, I am currently the Jeep Manager for my dealer, as well as a sales guy. Basically I sell cars and deal with all Wrangler related issues (lifts, up fits, ordering, training, etc). I am also a Jeep enthusiast. Have owned 4 JK’s, from a stock stick shift...
  10. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

The Mopar oversized tire carrier discription states that it will support a 37’ tire. I have a ticket in to Mopar through my dealers parts dept. will update when we get a resolution.
  11. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

Yep, the relocation bracket pushed the tire up and out about 2 inches, sensor is still going off.... FML
  12. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

Update, spoke to a local off road shop, they have a spare tire bracket they’re gonna try tomorrow in conjunction with the Mopar kit, I’ll update with results
  13. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

No, it is still just judging the distance to the rear bumper, even in stock configuration, it’s not calculating for the tire
  14. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

Happy to clarify: Sensor does not go off when spare tire is removed. Stock rear bumper, plastic, not steel bumper group. Sensor was not touched before placing tire Tire carrier raises/pushes out tire enough to not impact the bumper when swing gate is closed.
  15. Park sensors with 37’ rear tire

I have a customer with a JL Rubicon, 2 inch lift, 37 inch tires. It has the Mopar reinforced tailgate and tire carrier combo. The vehicle is equipped with park sense and when you go into reverse the park sensors sense the spare tire and keep going off. Has anyone found a fix for this issue? I...
  16. Cloth top included?

No, to get both tops you need to order the dual top group.
  17. Where has AEV been with JL Wrangler parts?

Do you have any sources to verify this? I’m not trying to be confrontational, but according to the my area rep, as well as the managers at AEV’s plant in Wixom, their efforts are almost all focused on the JL. The Colorado is a great platform for them to expand to, but the Wrangler is their bread...
  18. Where has AEV been with JL Wrangler parts?

I’m the AEV dude at my dealership. I spoke to our region rep and he said expect products at the end of the year. Honestly I admire AEV a lot right now. They’re purposely giving up the initial rush of JL mania to ensure that they are only putting out the highest quality parts and maintain their...
  19. If you couldn't get a Jeep Wrangler...?

RAM 1500 4x4 5.7 HEMI SPORT, 3.92 axles. AEV's Recruit Package (4 in lift, steel bumpers, winch, heat reduction hood, off road lights, custom skidplates) with Air Ram intake. We sell these at my dealership and I've had moments of insanity where I almost bought it. Best riding Lifted trucks ever.
  20. JL sport not really that bad

I couldnt agree more. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the future. Were already seeing a decline in demand for factory nav. Why use slow outdated maps when you can use your phones nav, and also get the added features like messaging, phone calls, pandora, spotify etc? mark my words in 5-7 years...
