  1. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I am this very same boat. I had multiple appts to get it corrected and it never was. I am now out of warranty by 6k miles. I just reached out to jeepcares to see if they'll help.
  2. 2018 JL wiper blades

I have one month old Bosch icons on the front and they skip badly. It's gotten really annoying. So annoying that I end up turning them off or at the absolute lowest setting that works at all. I'll even give it a shot of wiper fluid every couple of minutes until I run out as that helps for a few...
  3. Tire carriers

My tire carrier cracked above the top studs with the BFG KO2 315/70/17. It's only about 22lbs heavier than the stock setup, I think. Probably only wheeled it 6x before that happened. I was surprised when jeep service department replaced it under warranty, but it is probably within 1lb of the...
  4. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I felt the same way at first, but after 30k miles... Really after only 10k, it got so annoying I didn't want to take it on any long trips. It's the play in the wheel for me. It tracks straight for the most part until I hit a bit of a bump or groove. With the play in the wheel, there is just so...
  5. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

The "funny" thing is, they had previously agreed it wasn't right and put in a new steering gear box in 2018 but that was just as bad. It was the same part number (AC) as the one I had in it though. They had yet to come out with AD and AE. So, it drives the same, but now they are saying it...
  6. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Hopefully, you have better luck. Seems some dealerships/techs are more willing to agree there is a problem than others. Maybe yours is worse than mine which may also help. Someone else mentioned it in this thread and I'm feeling it is definitely the case that either dealerships don't get paid...
  7. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I've been to the dealer multiple times for the deadspot. I now have 35k miles on it and will be out of warranty soon (not that it would matter) . Just got it back for the last time yesterday after having a regional tech come out to drive it and..... Once again told it drives/steers as designed...
  8. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I haven't done this ye i'm with you here! Sold my 2014 JKUR2 years ago. The steering is the only thing that is better on my JK. I really can't believe how crappy the steering is. I've had it to the dealer 3 times for it already. 1st time, they replaced the steering box (but there were no...
  9. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I've wondered about this too! There are so many things that cost a fair amount of money that people say could fix this problem, but I'm kind of tired of paying money for this for things that don't work!
  10. 12 days of Christmas - Daily Giveaway at Northridge4x4

  11. [Resolved] Cracked spare tire carrier

I also have the same type of crack. I have the c-rated AT BFGs in 315/70/17 size. I've wheeled it only a handful of times. The weight is probably within a pound or two of the max load. Taking it in for this and steering related issues next week. We'll see what happens.
  12. Dynatrac EnduroSport lift review, just buy it...

I took the 2" spacer lift I had on with the drop brackets to get the jeep back to stock before taking it back in for the loose steering. I do plan on putting the dynatrac lift on. I'm definitely putting either the drop brackets for the LCAs back on or may get adjustable LCAs. Maybe it's not...
  13. Dynatrac EnduroSport lift review, just buy it...

I'm not saying you are wrong about there being less wander with the lift but I just don't understand how it could be improved when from everything I've read and heard, lowering castor, which is what you did by adding the lift, should make the wander worse, not better. Can anyone explain how...
  14. Possible reason the JL key fob is so big - waterproof

waterproof definitely doesn't mean it can last through half a wash cycle in high efficiency washing machine! Ooops! :headbang: I put it in rice for a couple of days after opening it and taking the battery out. Then, put in a new battery. Now the only thing it will do is turn the alarm on...
  15. Dynatrac EnduroSport lift review, just buy it...

What do you like better about the ride? Did it smooth out road imperfections at all? What's your castor at now? Any increased wandering if you didn't add longer LCAs? Thanks in advance.
  16. 315 KO2's with and without lift - any rubbing?

i'm with headbarcode. I have a 2018 JLUR with the same tires: 315-70-17 KO2s. I had them on before a lift and had zero issues rubbing on the street with full turns. I have since added a 2" spacer lift and also have no issues and had none other than maybe a little minor rubbing on the inner...
  17. Yakima Backswing

I have the 315/70/17 bfgs and it hits the top of the backswing and cannot be opened. However, it's not much of a pain to just swing out the backswing and then it's no problem. However, even then, it comes extremely close to another part of the backswing so if you had anything bigger, it could...
  18. Icon lift or something else to smooth out road imperfections?

Thanks for the info! But I'm already at 29 psi on load range C 315x70x17 BFG KO2s! Pretty sure 19 would feel awesome on the highway until I took a turn to fast! Then, pretty sure riding the rim after that would be a whole heck of a lot worse! ;-) This is my 6th jeep. But, maybe my issue is...
  19. Icon lift or something else to smooth out road imperfections?

I understand the solid axle thing completely! This is my 6th jeep. I also have the drop brackets already. However, I saw one person who installed the dual rate springs from Icon on their JLUR and they said it was "softer". I'm just looking to get every bit of smoothness I can out of the...
  20. Icon lift or something else to smooth out road imperfections?

What's best lift to smooth out the mini-road imperfections on my DD JLUR? I'm guessing a dual or triple rate coil would help? I noticed one member had the icon lift and said they were softer so was leaning towards those. Anyone else have experience with them? I currently have a 2" budget...
