  1. Any recent diesel news...?

I also got sick of waiting and just got a JLUR with the 3.6L a few weeks ago. I gotta say...I have no regrets at all. This power train is a billion times better than the 3.8L and 42RLE in my '08 JKU.
  2. JL Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

How is everyone getting status codes? I just messaged Jeep chat for the status of my order. Although they told me in words what's going on, they refused to give me the actual status code. When I asked directly for it, they said, "I apologize we are unable to provide status codes as they only...
  3. Question about caster angle and flat towing

I don't have a ton of experience, but I flat towed my JKU about 2000 miles with castor similar to yours. Then I went adjustable control arms and got my castor about 6 deg. Towed my Jeep about 1000 miles after that. I noticed a difference driving my Jeep but didn't notice any difference at all...
  4. New colors available on the Gladiator! Available for JL soon?

Nah he corrected himself a few posts later and said no tan after all.
  5. New colors available on the Gladiator! Available for JL soon?

Oh man those are some cool colors! I absolutely love the JL, but I'd have to say the color choices are the biggest disappointment for me (which is probably a good thing since color isn't ultimately that important). The JL seems to have either no color (i.e. black, white, every shade of gray...
  6. is the death wobble still a thing in the JL or is it too soon to tell?

Oh yeah definitely. If they make a couple attempts to fix it (and by it, I mean literally just about any problem with the vehicle), and you still keep having the same problem, you can absolutely go the Lemon Law route. Every state is different and some are easier than others, but definitely...
  7. is the death wobble still a thing in the JL or is it too soon to tell?

Replacing the stabilizer will almost certainly make the symptoms go away. That's why it's commonly misunderstood to be the solution. But it doesn't actually fix the underlying problem. It just masks it temporarily. Might come back in days. Might come back in years. But it'll definitely come...
  8. is the death wobble still a thing in the JL or is it too soon to tell?

I feel like a broken record how many times I've needed to say this in my lifetime - people really need to stop claiming that a bad steering stabilizer causes DW, or that replacing/upgrading the steering stabilizer fixes it, or really just ever mentioning the steering stabilizer at all when...
  9. Solving long clutch on manual JL

I'm not sure if you're being serious or poking fun at other users, but no you don't have to push the clutch all the way down to change gears. And the amount you'll need to depress the clutch isn't even always constant. You'll generally need more clutch in (numerically) lower gears, but as you...
  10. Rubicon having issue going up the same terrain while sport easily went up

Right. But I agree with Sean K - I don't think either of you actually had BLD engage in that video. As others have said, I think you made it over and the Rubi did not was due to slightly different line, slightly different driving, the benefit of your LSD in the rear, etc.
  11. Rubicon having issue going up the same terrain while sport easily went up

Lol...do you have any idea what it takes to break a Jeep axle? You guys were in some soft sand and your driving was not even in the realm of possibly sorta close to needing to worry about breaking an axle. And I'm not sure what you're basing your statement on when you say it should work with...
  12. Rubicon having issue going up the same terrain while sport easily went up

I think this is exactly what happened. Doesn't seem to me like the Rubi really gave it enough gas long enough for BLD to kick in and/or be effective. I won't start calling names, but he was definitely driving very cautiously to say the least :giggle: Best way to use BLD is to gradually keep...
  13. Any recent diesel news...?

Thanks for the update! Man, I'm still so torn...
  14. Solving long clutch on manual JL

Yeah I'm with JIMBO. I test drove a manual JL last week and was blown away by how much more enjoyable it was compared to the JK. The clutch in the JL was more precise and I felt like the sweet spot actually let me sit a bit farther away from the steering wheel in the JL. And oh the shift box...
  15. is the death wobble still a thing in the JL or is it too soon to tell?

I'm sorry, but this really isn't true. Allow me to elaborate... I could be wrong, but I suspect that you (along with many, many people) confuse true DW with simple steering shimmies/shakes. I'm talking about unbalanced tires, incorrectly inflated tires (too much air can be as bad as too little...
  16. Do you worry about D Ring bolts vibrating out?

I had two D-rings on a rear bumper I built for my JK and only finger tightened them. About 6-8 months later, they were gone - must have fallen off driving down the road. Lesson learned the hard way. I got a new pair and put them on with Loctite blue. Have been on for years now with no issue.
  17. 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Takes Home Multiple TAWA Awards

SUV of Texas is a Maserati? I could see the Maserati being the SUV of NYC, or the SUV of Beverly Hills...but Texas?! That really brings the credibility of TAWA into question for me  Anyways, glad to see Jeep well-represented on there (including the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee too)
  18. If the standard option was a fixed windshield would you pay an extra $100 for a folding windshield

Really shocked to see how many have voted 'no' so far! Even if you never fold it down once, it's still part of what makes a Wrangler unique, which makes you smile when you think about it, which helps ingrain the lifestyle that goes along with ownership, which makes it, well, a Jeep thing. You...
