  1. What other vehicles are you cross shopping? $5-6k increase causing second thoughts on JLU

I'm waiting on a plug in hybrid or EV truck now. Likely an F150 regular cab short bed but we'll see what's out there in a year or two.
  2. New Katzkin Leather - Red / Black with Diamond stitch JL seat cover

That sounds about right. You can get nearly any type of seat cover you want and prices will vary. Personally, I'd just want an ultra simple brown seat for cheap.
  3. New Katzkin Leather - Red / Black with Diamond stitch JL seat cover

Do they remove the existing cloth/leather cover or damage the original to install the Katz? How much was product and how much was the install?
  4. New Katzkin Leather - Red / Black with Diamond stitch JL seat cover

How much to buy them and what was the installation like? I'll guess $1000?
  5. Jeep JL Wrangler 3.6L vs 2.0T HP/TQ curve comparison (dyno chart)

Yea if they add eTorque to the 3.6L I bet they'll drop the manual also
  6. Jeep JL Wrangler 3.6L vs 2.0T HP/TQ curve comparison (dyno chart)

My guess is eTorque and start stop systems don't play nice with a manual.
  7. How much boost will the 2.0 turbo have?

The purpose of Etorque is to make start-stop more seamless so people don't turn it off pretty much. Doubt it'll have much acceleration benefit over disabled start stop on other cars.
  8. Jeep JL Wrangler 3.6L vs 2.0T HP/TQ curve comparison (dyno chart)

Pretty soon we will likely get some JL 2.0 dyno graphs. While we're posting other dynos, Here's my BMW and Subaru dynos. Low reading Mustang AWD dyno so add about 15% to the dyno numbers to get BHP. My 2004 STi exhaust and tune, before and after installing a carbon fiber single piece drive...
  9. EPA MPG numbers published for 2.0L Turbo Wrangler JL

Looking forward to the drag races and tuning options. The 2 doors will look pretty sweet with lowered suspension and sport tires with 400hp tune in RWD.
  10. 3.6L gets better cost per mile than the 2.0L?

Why would someone pay extra for the premium engine then try to save a few bucks putting cheap gas in it and killing its performance. Smh
  11. 3.6L gets better cost per mile than the 2.0L?

I just think it's silly to spend $40-$60k on a toy then quibble about saving $20 a month to lower your performance by using either cheaper gas or granny'ing the car. If you're getting the turbo you're getting it as a performance option, not a cost saving option. Put 93 in it and tune it and...
  12. 3.6L gets better cost per mile than the 2.0L?

I did a quick google search and found plenty of results for Duramax GM tuners. Just gotta look around. Super small niche vehicles won't have as many tuning options though. But the 2.0L from Fiat will certainly be a popular tuner platform.
  13. 3.6L gets better cost per mile than the 2.0L?

    I'll give it a month til there's a canned tune for $500
  14. 3.6L gets better cost per mile than the 2.0L?

Eh, I think worrying about a few mpg isn't worth it. Wranglers are stylish off-roady toys. It's like worrying about your 1/4 mile time in your Prius. Different tools different jobs. I'm not sure the savings are that great either. I'm saving about $1500 a year not using gas but I don't drive a...
  15. How much boost will the 2.0 turbo have?

In my experience, mild cold air/exhaust mods and a tune is all you need to keep you in the safe zone and get a bucketload more power on the cheap.
  16. How much boost will the 2.0 turbo have?

Twin scroll is neat. Usually not as much tuning potential with them though as they're optimized for efficiency. Can always just bolt in a giant turbo and go to town too if 300hp/370tq isn't enough!
  17. How much boost will the 2.0 turbo have?

Twin turbos often have big potential for tuning because they are set up for quick response and under stressed. I thought people had seen photos of the engine itself and seen the single turbo also. I dunno. Electronic waste gates is good though. I'm sure it'll be a breeze to tune unless the...
  18. How to take advantage of ESS effectively.

Ah. Welp, that's too bad. Oh well! I guess people will just need to be happy with that they get. It seems like it's common for companies to release a new engine/transmission half way through a product cycle. So the JL has the new chassis which is good but then old engines which is not so good. I...
  19. How to take advantage of ESS effectively.

I think the whole ESS and BSG thing is pretty sad. It's a desperate corporate attempt to meet regulations and really doesn't help consumers. If it were me, I'd just disable the ESS and just appreciate the beefed up starter components. But, if it were my money, and it is, I wouldn't buy these...
  20. How to take advantage of ESS effectively.

Yep. the name implies its function. It's a belt run by an electric motor that starts the engine and keeps spinning it until the engine can provide sufficient torque. It'll probably be active for about 1 second or so as the engine goes from 0-1000 rpm. That way you should feel the engine turn...
