  1. JLUR - Plastic vs Steel Bumpers?

I think the advice to get what makes you happy is best. I ordered my Rubi with plastic bumpers because I want to keep it light. My armored up LJ got terrible mileage on the trails, and realistically, the steel bumpers added weight I could have lived without. In terms of performance, I was rear...
  2. 3.6L vs 2.0 turbo?? Pros and cons of both??

I agree wth you. This summer I spent a week on the Alpine Loop trails around Silverton, CO, often over 11,000 feet and had no noticeable power loss with my 3.6L JL. I had read many threads about the turbo and high elevations, but it didn't seem to be an issue.
  3. Reliability

My 2019 Rubi is about a little over a year and a half old. Problems so far: * Front seat back upholstery pulling away from the molle panels (both seats) * A couple recalls/service bulletins * A persistent problem with the Uconnect system where sound stops working on all inputs (I know the...

  5. EVO MFG Trail Roof Rack Installation / Review

I have had mine for quite awhile, too, and agree with this. Install was easy, but I was glad I had a cordless ratchet instead of a regular ratchet. It’s a lot of bolts. I had no trouble with the rubber padding or the mounting points or the paint. It may make a big difference that I live in AZ...
  6. Arizona Trip

If you’re in Tucson, the backway up Mt Lemmon is beautiful and very accessible. It starts in Oracle just north of Phoenix. It has some side roads if you want to explore a little. There is a nice ghost town loop East of Tombstone that’s kind of a loop around the Dragoon Mountains. Old mining...
  7. Best place to take pictures in the Desert?

Mt Graham near Safford has a couple routes, one dirt road on the back, one paved on the front. Both have amazing long views and heavy forest (often misty and wet) near the top.
  8. Best place to take pictures in the Desert?

Montana Mountain trail near Superior has some of the most beautiful desert around in the lower areas and gorgeous long view landscapes near the top. It’s easy and accessible.
  9. EVO MFG Trail Roof Rack Installation / Review

I can help with the size of the openings. These are measurements from my presumably newer version. The slots themselves are 3/8" wide. There are four wider openings per slat. They are about 7 1/2" from each edge, and about 13 1/2" from each other. Evenly spaced. The openings are about 15/16"...
  10. EVO MFG Trail Roof Rack Installation / Review

I want to thank the OP for taking the time to write up his experience. That's what convinced me to go with this rack versus other options. I need it for a Frontrunner roof top tent, which weighs less than 100 lbs and is well within the load capacity. I just installed this rack yesterday. They...
