Even a regular 3.5" lift should get aftermarket driveshafts due to the geometry changes in your angles, and if you're running 35s or bigger you'll need re-gearing, and should also install new axle shafts if you want your axle to survive with a heavy gas foot. All too often I see people wanting a...
Since Jeep introduced so many axle variations this time around, instead of a common rear (D44) between all trims, I really am just waiting for someone to do a strength analysis between the Dana Solid Rear Axle (D35?) vs the Dana 44 with limited slip. Plus doesn't the Rubicon have a wider stance...
I feel the same way, only thing holding me up is I'm waiting for JLs to hit the lots so dealers will be even more likely to play ball with their JKs
The real question I have is, will I be able to get into a 4-door Wrangler with the diesel for under $40k (actual price, not MSRP) in 2019? If it's not available in the Sport or Sport S, I'm guessing the answer is no :(
Assuming you put on aftermarket fenders, will the Sport be able to handle 35" tires with no lift? I'm trying to figure out just how different the factory suspension will be from the Sahara/Rubicon models.
The Rubi transfer case is way overkill for 99% of jeep owners. Most are just looking to make their jeep look good, not beat it to hell in the rocks out west.
That's my plan too! I don't think the JL really offers anything additional at the base Sport model over the JK, except a bigger price tag. And at least with a JK, the pricing is better and the last model year is the most refined, compared to a first year JL.
Except if you buy a sport, and right off the bat build and swap in D44 housings that are more robust than the Rubi D44s.... The price difference between the sport and rubicon is easily enough to build a nice set of axles, the cost of all other lift components will remain the same whether it's a...
Invoice = MSRP? Because I would never pay anywhere near MSRP for a vehicle. A quick tally tells me a similarly configured JL would be:
Sport S -- $33,695 ($2,600 more than 2017 JK)
Auto transmission -- $2000
Hard top -- $1000
Delivery charge - $1195
So I think I'd be looking at $37,890 before...
Right now I've got a 2018 JK Unlimited Sport S on the hook for $30.8k with no haggling. Includes the Sport S package, auto-trans, and hard top. MSRP is $35,380. I'm wondering how much an equivalently equipped JL Sport Unlimited will cost? On a JK the Sport S package runs $3200, the hardtop is...
I'm still looking around to see if any base price numbers have been listed at all for the new JLs? Right now the diesel is a $4300 option in the Ram 1500.
