I hear you. I've just never gotten used to the high release point (IMHO) - and have been driving stick since 1995. I've never stalled out more in 1 or R in any other MT vehicle we've owned (JK, GTI, VW TDIs, Subies)
I have to say - even if it is a supply chain or CAFE issue or whatever for the rest of the 2022s, IMHO this 6MT is a dog - it's almost as if FCA wanted to put out a bad one to make sure no one wants to order another one.
I need to find a MA local that's done this before investing in the seatjackers. My initial issue with the seats was similar to what someone else said - the head rest angle was awful. I reclined the seat more, which helps that, but I there are times I find I'm almost too reclined (and it's not...
We've had at least one manual transmission car in our fleet since 1999. I've read this elsewhere, but I honestly wonder if Jeep made the 6MT so bad that it turns so many people off it'll be dead by the end of the JL run. I still feel like I haven't quite mastered the catch point for 1st or R...
Anyone in the Rugged Ridge tube door thread have issues with the door handle/latch release not releasing?
Specifically - just got a set of the rear doors (keep the kids mildly safer back there). Drive side installed no problem. Pull the handle, door opens right up.
Passenger side - seems that no...
PSA/FYI - If you get the newer MetalTech SafeClimb model from Home Depot, it has non-slip, squared side rungs (with the little nubs on top to boot). Very cool/much safer than just round rungs.
HOWEVER, those new square rungs do NOT work with the MetalTech shelf. Lesson learned. MetalTech...
I'd agree - I mean no offense, but with the white hard top, there's a lot going on.
Kind of funny - build and price totally farts when trying to apply half doors to certain color combos - I was spec'ing a 4xe Sahara with half doors for S&Gs, and then this happened.
Just saw this after going back through the whole thread. I'm also interested in stable door storage to pair with the scaffolding. I don't see weight being an issue - the scaffolding itself is rated to 1000 lbs or something.
1. Wish there was a way for one pic to populate multiple threads.
2. Is there a tan soft top club thread I’ve missed somewhere?
3. So glad I finally got the hard top off.
I feel I really lucked out getting a 2020-ordered MY21 Willys. Really wanted the LED lights, saw minimal use of lockers in the long run (not hugely worried on resale, as hoping to keep it long term). If I had to order now though, might take a different direction - kids (9 / 11) already...
This is fantastic. Dual-top Firecracker Willys order with a Jan '21 delivery means my tan soft top is still in the box....Can't wait to install the tan top.
Funny - that was a feature on the GTI we traded in - one of the first things my wife asked when she started driving the JLU was, "Is there a gear indicator like in the GTI?" - she'll actually be happy with this!
We went with the Willys (not Willys S). I don't see our personal need for lockers - rock crawling for us will be limited, if ever. I do appreciate the LSD, and it came as part of the Willys package. I've never driven the selec-trac, so can't compare, but the command-trac + LSD took care of all...
I think it's interesting they shot the vid with hardtop vehicles. I'd think these might be more of a soft-top accessory, but I also haven't reviewed the order guide to see if you can/can't get these with a hard-top only.
