Nothing related to Europe. CO2 or engine power tax can be connected to Europe.
Actually engine have similar weight. E.Torque system with lithium battery should add around 50 lbs. That's a difference.
Ah, Bob Sheaves and his predictions.
He took the point where EcoDiesel is identical to existing one.
One interesting part. EcoDiesel engine block is shorter in length than Pentastar and much shorter compared to HEMI.
So that most likely repackaged the engine.
And also. He never said that front...
Price difference is not huge so I will exclude that part.
MultiAir system is very sensitive to oil type. It needs oi to operate. And such a oil is expensive and not easy to find in the USA.
So maybe they are playing safe.
The other part is NVH with cold engine
Any problems on Grand Cherokee?
The eTorque system's hybrid functions include auto stop/start, electric power assist, extended fuel shut-off, transmission shift management, intelligent battery charging and regenerative braking. Both the engine and fuel flow may be turned off during stops, coasting or when the engine is...
2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine
The all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with eTorque technology is rated a best-in-class 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder (I-4)...
There is no regeneration if you drive PSA car.
It's so disgusting to see how all mighty Germans can push for their inferior solutions even to non German manufacturers. FAP is so much better.
Similar to this is how VAG pushed for PD. They completely switched to CR when they realized they can...
I see more and more 1 liter 3 cylinder turbos each day with more strict Euro 6c regulations which forced GDI engines to have a GPF. It's something which was impossible to measure few years ago. A very small particles which are even more harmful than one from disel engines.
Just look at what...
In Europe it's different. For example in my country. Liter of low sulfur Eurosuper 95 is 1.45 USD, Eurosuper 100 is 1.56 USD, and low sulfur Eurodiesel is 1.39 USD for liter. And already Eurosuper 95 is similar as 91 octane fuel in the USA.
Which one would you choose? I presume that 3.6 liter...
What's exciting about EcoBust?
Maybe they look great on the paper. But 2.0 is certainly not as good as European competition. Also under a heavy load they consume to much load. That's something which can be improved by some technical improvements.
One thing tells a lot to me.
For GM naturally...
CLA or A-class is not Giulia's competitor. They are premium C-segment offerings while Giulia is in premium D-segment. Also in case of Mercedes you are talking about performance engine. Engines inside Giulia or Wrangler are not performance engines.
280 HP GME T4 M is direct competitor of BMW 330i...
I don't know what you are expecting from 2.0 turbo. But I can assure you that GME T4 D has better numbers than 2nd generation 2.0 liter Ford EcoBust.
Also Giulia's engine beats its direct competitors with 280 HP. The story will be closed with launch of 350 HP version. AFAIK it will happen next...
You can comment if GME T4 D is mediocre once when it hits the market. From what I heard about torque numbers and at which rpm it hits maximum torque I must say that I'll always pick it before GM 2.0 turbo engine.
Engine capacity has nothing with European market. You Americans are constantly...
To be precise. Alfa's engine is SOHC because of MultiAir. It has GDI, twin scroll turbo. Water to air intercooler.
And precise numbers are 280 and 305 lb ft of torque at 2000 rpm.
Based on previous leaked documents Wrangler engine is not MultiAir. So it should be a DOHC with dual VVT. Also it...
