  1. It's a Jeep, not a "car".

And, get off my lawn! :) There's just something about the use of "car" in reference to a Jeep that is wrong. If I can convert one person to use "Jeep" instead of "car", then my work is done. :)
  2. California gas guzzler tax

This came up in another thread. It was stated (believed) that the 392 is subject to a $7500 California gas guzzler tax. I didn't want to hijack that thread. Is there an additional gas guzzler tax for California in addition to the federal gas guzzler tax? This from EPA web site: California...
  3. Teraflex fuel economy comparison to 4xe

Fuel economy: You have to listen from 6:15 to 6:59. I think this is hilarious when comparing the 4xe to the 392. And no one cares... Not picking sides. Watching 392 and 4xe forums. Both interesting. Both have pros and cons.
  4. Why the rumored $2500 price increase is a great deal (at least for me)

Rumor has it that the price increase is about $2500 per Jay in this thread http://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/source-2500-base-price-increase-for-jl-wrangler.1310/. I'm dismissing the $3500 hit just to get an engine. :) This off-the-cuff analysis is for the Rubicon because that is...
  5. 8.4" Radio Bezel

While we wait... :) It's been posted by some (many?) that the radio bezel is "unsightly". I agree. I think if the designers had used radii instead of chamfers it might look better. Round vent, round relief in the bezel. Simple and cohesive. Why they used chamfers around the round vents is...
  6. Rear seat head rest desiogn much better than JK

In the JK, you had to do a mod to keep the rear seat head rests from popping up after reclining the seat then flipping it back up. The mod was to disconnect the spring. I'm very happy to see that FCA addressed this with the JL. The head rests fold forward instead of behind the seat. Nice job...
  7. Red dash poll

Let's see how popular or unpopular the red dash (bolster) is.
  8. Calling BS on the reason for the side vent

Mark Allen claims the reason for the side vent is to relieve hood flutter. See 3:58 in this video http://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/two-good-wrangler-walkthrough-videos.2157/#post-29592 I'm calling BS on this. As many JK owners know, replacing the rubbery factory hood hold downs...
  9. Stop complaining about the red dash in the Rubicon!

I'm seeing many posts in many threads about the red dash panel. Some people are actually thinking about changing to a different body color so it will coordinate. Others are recommending ordering the tan interior then buy Katzkin leather seat covers to cover the tan seats. Really? People, just...
  10. Hi-Line or Standard Flares? Which do you like? Or replace?

I can't say I'll keep the factory flares but I like these "more-horizontal" versions much better than the JK "droopy" flares. I might keep the hi-line flares for the following reasons/conditions: 1. If I like the styling in person. 2. Relatively clean way to remove the turn signals, so I can...
  11. 3.6L Pentastar V6 24V VVT Upgraded Engine vs. Current JK Engine

I see "upgraded engine" in various threads, but don't see any specifics. Does someone know how this new 3.6L Pentastar V6 24V VVT Upgraded Engine compares to the current V6? Does it have more horse power.? Does it have more torque? Is it more fuel efficient? I understand it has been...
