I've been following this rumor for the last couple of years and it's been pretty consistent. One of the most consistent points that's come up each time this surfaces is that it won't be a normal I6. Combining all the rumors I've heard, and inserting some of my own ideas to fill in the blanks...
Save all the factory parts. If I was looking for a used Jeep and came across one with any of these, I would have to get quite the deal. And even then it would have to be put back to stock before I ever drove it anywhere. I don't even know how I would take it for a test drive. Maybe a disguise or...
Haha! I think it was '99, I was with my dad on the golden spike trail somewhere between launching pad and the golden crack. Along come these two Arab gentlemen in a rental sedan banging and bashing the bumpers and undercarriage up the trail. As we passed my dad asked, "How'd you get that back...
Looks like I've touched a few nerves here. I guess this isn't my audience. I apologize to those I may have offended through my mistake. I'll go somewhere else and leave you all be.
Making more wranglers makes the price go down. Selling more Wranglers makes the price go UP unless accompanied by an increase in supply. This is what's been happening. If demand outpaces supply, all the economies of scale in the world won't help lower the price.
The JL seams to be a great...
Yes! There is hope that there will be a new favorite vehicle for the mall crawling dude bros to emasculate. I'd be ok with 50k for 50k worth of vehicle but I'm not ok paying the 10-15k popularity status image tax. Jeeps used to be a fun vehicle even working class stiffs like me could aspire to...
That's definitely a sub. You can easily see the cone through the grill. If you look closely at the red tag at the rear of the grill it says all weather, so apparently they've done something to allow it to handle rain. There must be a built in drain in the cone or something. Still, I agree poor...
Nope, no way, no how. No matter how much we want to believe this, FCA can't violate the laws of physics. When I first read this I let out an involuntary audible shout, but as I considered the implication it quickly became apparent something was wrong here. It's really 268 so, the real news here...
For sure they are. I think there's some lift as well though. Look at how the front diff sticks down lower below the air dam than on the red one. That or the air dam is smaller.
The hoods look different on the red and black ones. Looking at side profiles the bump on the red one comes all the way basically to the front edge of the hood similar to the front vented hood on the JT leaked drawing. On the black one the bump ends further back on the hood. I like the JT drawing...
"Mild hybrid" is an automotive industry term which generally describes this type of system. The full hybrid will come later in a couple years. I expect the full hybrid to be the option already being offered by ZF for its 8 speed transmission. I was hoping for a differential drivetrain coupled...
I actually think it will, to my eyes it looks just like rollbar in the grainy leaked image and thus confirms it. In that case the tub and roll cage will be integrated together into one and I can't see them painting that component two separate colors.
That's what it looks like to me.
I also...
