  1. Nexen Roadian MTX

I ended up getting a set of the Nexen Roadian MTXs from TireBuyer. 35x12.5x17. 230 miles in and I am very happy with them. 33-34 (cold) PSI seems to be the sweet spot on ride comfort and contact patch. Will report back once I hit 1000 miles.
  2. JLU Rubicon on 35s no lift

I made the switch to rarely seen/newer Nexen Roadian MTXs LT35x12.5x17. After some back n forth with TireBuyer (they were great) I got a set made in 2019 vs 2018 with better road force scores. The first set (April 2018 mfg date) had tires in the 30s and 40s (road force scores pre-balance)...
  3. Best place to live?

UTAH, MT, WY or ID. UTAH is my front runner bc I am tech but they are all flat out beautiful. CO is great and stunning but traffic and pollution in Denver is nuts. Boulder is lovely and a bit less nuts vs Denver. CO is also closing 4x4 car/suv trails left and right. It is honestly...
  4. Borla Exhaust for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL!

Thant should help. I put a resonator on as well which helped but year later it feels like the volume has upped and the howl is more pronounced and I am using the Borla XP muffler. I may go with a dual muffler setup moving the borla into the resonator position and getting something a bit...
  5. JLU Rubicon on 35s no lift

I ended up returning the Yokohamas and getting a set of Nexen Roadian MTXs. They are built like tanks and great off road in limited use. On street you get the MT hum and the clearly on grabbing at the asphalt. I will report back when I have 500 to 1000 miles on they. By a 1000 I will know...
  6. so you replaced your stock tires and ....

I ended up returning the YOKOS for a set of Nexen Roadian MTXs 35x12.5x17R. I like them overall and my MPGs went up a bit bc they are lighter than the YOKOS. Only have 100 miles on them so I will report back once I clear 500 or so. The look great and dig that gophers. On the road they hum...
  7. Borla Exhaust for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL!

Low rumble is fine. A growl is less optimal at least for me. Doesn't need to be stock quiet and weak but the growl thing creates hotrod sound as it ages.
  8. Nexen Roadian MTX, Yokohama Geolanders G003 MT - Any Experiences?

Anyone out there running the Nexen Roadian MTX or Yokohama Geolander G003 MT tires on their JL/JKs? If so thoughts? By run I mean a mix of daily driver and mud/snow and rock time. How quiet & smooth are they on the road is a key datapoint I want to uncover. I have a set of the Yokos...
  9. so you replaced your stock tires and ....

I have a set of the Geos as well. I had some weird vibration and a rumbling ride for a bit but it turns out I had a bad front tire. I had that replaced a few days ago and the vibration has stopped. Overall they are a great looking tire, seem well made and beefy. For a MT they are pretty...
  10. so you replaced your stock tires and ....

What did you end up getting after the Yoko? I have them now and I am experiencing the same rumbling ride.
  11. Noob who needs Tire/Wheel Help!

Did you ever get the Nexen Roadians MTX? If so how do you like them.
  12. JLU Rubicon on 35s no lift

Thanks. It is encouraging to hear things are going well with yours. I am heading to a 4x4 builders shop (today) who has the equipment and experience needed to do the job properly. I am hoping for the best. That said, it may turn out I got a bad tire or set of tires. If so I can return them...
  13. JLU Rubicon on 35s no lift

Sorry about the delay on getting you a picture of the Geolanders on my Rubicon. This is not much but more will come, provided I keep them. Unfortunately they are not balancing well for me. They were fine for the first few weeks but now they are rough riding and vibrate over 45. I have heard...
  14. Nexen Roadian MTX

I am looking at them as well. The few tire stores out there that carry they rate them high (users) but there are not a ton of user reviews. I also cannot find out how much they weigh. Specifically the 35x12.5x17 MTX. They are load F which is overkill for rock crawling etc but they should be...
  15. Borla Exhaust for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL!

Hopefully after all this wait it will be a super quiet, understated, doesn't try to sound like a Mustang GT, setup. You will sell 5x more units if it meets that criteria. That also means when you give it the gas its quiet, not just at idle. Think quieter than AT tires on a new smooth...
  16. Borla Exhaust for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL!

I have already done this. I bought a 10 quiet resonator and a Borla XS oval muffler. Still not quiet. So if you have a climber muffler you may need to load for bear in the resonator dept. The Borla's want howl even the touring models IMO. They make a great tone but it is hot rod sound. I...
  17. Borla Exhaust for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL!

It could be they want to really reduce the noise but maintain a nice pitch? Noise reduction is usually enabled by size of muffler (clearance issues), air routing (engineering), casing and insulation materials. So its likely not taking an existing touring muffler and squeezing it in there. I...
  18. JLU Rubicon on 35s no lift

I think I replied to this but in case I didnt. They are still in basment unmounted. I did get around to doing the rear tire carrier upgrade and mounted one GEO. 4 more to go. :)
  19. Aftermarket JL Lift Kit suspension options master list

The diesel engine is about 450 pounds heavier than the 3.6. Given that alone I would consider heavy duty springs if I didn't want to wait for a kit built for that model. If the person is willing to wait then I would wait until mfrs test & release a new variant.
