That has happened to me before as well. I don't know how it works, but it happens. As far as facebook, I think of it as an auditorium full of barking dogs; lots of noise, not much useful information...
Yeah, what spank said. Lots of powder dust trails and forest roads. I've had to literally spoon the dust and dirt from the airbox a few times. Looking at the "raised air intake" aspect and not interested in being a submarine. I'm leaning toward the Mopar for fit/warranty issues but would like to...
Just wondering if folks with snorkels (raised air intakes) are liking them? Rattles? Problems? Rain performance? Also anyone who has one in big snow country having issues with snow clogging? Love to hear about your experiences...
I have a Rubicon (2018 JLUR) front and rear bumper complete with towhooks for free. Just lmk. Minor scratches. No foglights. Missing one rear bracket that I used to make the rear bumperless style license plate mount. Menomonie area.
I have had the RC spacer lift with shock extensions on for a year now. Works and looks great. I did also add Rubicon Express front LCA,s. My dealer did it all parts and labor for $350 with alignment. I am still running the stock K02,s on stock rims. I'm not a big fan of the Big Daddy Roth/Hot...
Haven't been getting out camping as much as I'd like, but the boy and I hook up the teardrop and do a lot of "day-camping" and exploring. We get down to the bottoms and sand roads for biking, fishing, off-grid lunches and general hi-jinks pretty often.
I live in Wisconsin (we had 3 days last year where it was -50) and soft top year round. The JL soft top is miles better than my JK soft top. The boy and I love to run top down and mostly use safari mode all summer.
Oddly enough, I rarely ever saw a JK with a soft top locally but have seen more...
Camping last winter with my teardrop. Highly modified trailer with Timbren long-travel suspension, diesel heater, electric furnace (for on-the-grid use), Apple desktop hardwired with inverter and 28" monitor, Android head unit etc. I'm too old to sleep on the ground...

If you want to save weight it's hard to do better than no muffler. My 2.0 and Dynomax is great. As many have said, startups are bracing, but after it idles down (30 seconds to a minute or so) it's just a growl. I really like mine.
I pull a teardrop trailer (everywhere!) with my 2018 JLUR. I've added a lot of stuff to the trailer (Timbren long travel suspension, diesel heater, generator, pintle hitch, etc) but let's be straight:
You can go a lot of places with a trailer behind you (plenty of places you SHOULDN'T go!) but...
If you're like me and always out of swag cash, you can go the po-boy route and cut a few pieces of 2X4 into 8" lengths. I have half a dozen or so in the storage bin under my rear deck.
Occam's Razor:
"All things being equal, the simplest solution is the best solution." And in this case, also...
Picked up my 2018 JLUR in Aug of 19. Around 12,000 miles now.
Upgrades:
Receiver hitch (pirate from my old JK)
DV8 front stubby bumper
Smittybuilt 9500 lbs winch
DV8 rear bumper delete
Custom overhead console
Custom security storage system
RC 2 1/2" spacer lift
Dynomax muffler delete
Mopar 7...
I like my Jeep (2018 JLUR) the way it is. Absolutely love the 2.0 and new auto tranny. Mirrors....sigh....There are around 3,729 aftermarket options for Jeep mirrors for under a hundred bucks. To me, that means if I want to take the doors off, I'll be able to paddle through the market and find...
I run about 50/50 with either 87 or 91 octane. If I am using the trailer, then 91 for sure. A little bit less mileage with 87 but no noticeable difference in performance. I run a lot of logging roads, dirt tracks and river roads with Jeep and trailer. I also don't beat on it....
12K miles on my 18 JLUR with the 2.0 and I couldn't be happier or more impressed. Zero problems with it. I came out of a 17 JKUS (V6, 3.73's, auto) and the 2.0 just spanks the 3.6 in every way. I tow a teardrop trailer (1680 lbs wet) and the 2.0 treats the trailer like it was her bitch...
I have a 2017 TAG Boondock teardrop camper that I drag everywhere, on and offroad. I recently ditched the Dexter torsion axle and installed a complete Timbren long-travel suspension system and the difference is dramatic. I'd recommend to anyone who plays hard with a trailer to look into the...
I have a 2018 JLUR with the 2.0 and AT. My trailer is a 2017 [email protected] teardrop by NuCamp in Oh. Wet, loaded trailer weight with generator is 1680 lbs as shown by CAT scale. I've added tons of options on the trailer to include diesel heater, electric furnace, dual awnings, Apple computer with 28 inch...
