It likely has to do with low volumes expected. It is difficult to offer too many choices when the volume isn't there.
  2. What does everyone do with their stock parts?

I’m selling my 18” wheels and OE plastic front bumper. They take up too much space to keep them around just in case. I’ve been getting inquiries on the front bumper from JK owners with damaged front bumpers. The wheels will sell eventually; everyone and everything has a price.

I just optioned a Sahara 4xe exactly how I have my current V6; the only thing missing is Selec-Trac, which is not available on 4xe: $57,000 before any tax credits; it would be $49,500 with the credits. My 2018 JLU Sahara with Selec-Trac was about $52,500 before discounts. So, adjusting for...
  4. Op-Ed: Is the JL the BEST JEEP WRANGLER EVER?

True too. My JLU Sahara came from factory with 1/2-inch more ground clearance than my JKU Rubicon Recon! All the while, it drives better, is more refined and more responsive in daily driving.
  5. Op-Ed: Is the JL the BEST JEEP WRANGLER EVER?

Indeed. JKU turned Wrangler from a 50,000 units/year niche vehicle into the 200,000 units/year mainstream vehicle it is today.
  6. Op-Ed: Is the JL the BEST JEEP WRANGLER EVER?

On the other hand, Wrangler got where it is today by doing its own thing, with little concern for the trends and the fads of the day.
  7. Op-Ed: Is the JL the BEST JEEP WRANGLER EVER?

TJ was the best Wrangler IMO. And I didn’t even own one. TJ combined the size and simplicity of the original Wranglers, with modern improvements like QuadraCoil suspension and fuel injection. I love my JL: it is comfortable, refined, capable, and has been trouble free. But I will dread the...
  8. Test drove the 3.0L Diesel

Gotta love how the world is coming to an end, ever day, on the Internet. Just because California plans to ban the sale of ICE vehicles in the future, a big if IMO, doesn't make all those existing ICE vehicles disappear overnight. After all, California is the largest market for vintage and...
  9. The future of the Wrangler Jeep

I agree EV is the future. But I'll wait for more trustworthy automakers to iron all the wrinkles first. Fiat + electrical = BOOM!
  10. Refund for steel bumper and aux switches?

Huntington Beach and Orange Coast —if it still exists— are possibly the two worst dealers in all of Southern California.
  11. Refund for steel bumper and aux switches?

If the dealer won’t return your calls after they took your cash, try leaving a scathing review on Yelp or Google. Then watch how quickly they call you back. I found a negative review in an unbiased, professional tone normally does the trick.
  12. Parked Next to a new Bronco Sport

I thought it competed with Jeep Compass.
  13. Locker sensor failing

For FCA is less about the cost of a sensor and more about paying the dealer for the labor of diagnosing things correctly, opening up a differential, fixing it, putting everything back together, and the ever present risk of doing something incorrectly. Swapping an entire axle is a no-brainer...
  14. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Got these custom-made center cap decals. They complement my Quadratec CJ Retro alloys perfectly!
  15. $600 for used 2019 Rubicon metal three piece bumper?

Make sure it has everything. Things to look for: Does it have both end caps? Those are the first to go missing Does it have the winch opening cover? Is he including the fog lights? The red tow hooks? Is he including the skid plate? If so, does it have the support brackets? I paid $900...
  16. LED Headlights & Tail Lights turn on / off at the car wash

That’s just the Jeep telling you the water’s too damn cold!
  17. had a boo boo today =(

    Howdy neighbor!
  18. had a boo boo today =(

There’s this guy near me that does the most amazing things restoring auto finishes. Here’s a link to his Instagram page: If he can fix these, someone near you should be able to fix what you got.
  19. had a boo boo today =(

I’d just tell everyone is “trail rash” and move on...
  20. Which Compromise to Make - 3.6L eTorque, 3.0L TD, 392

EcoDiesel’s track record is too spotty for my liking. FCA claimed it had fixed all the problems of the original EcoDiesel, but buyers kept complaining of a variety of problems when the engine first relaunched last year. The number of complaints have quieted down since then, which suggests FCA...
