Resurrecting an old thread but I searched and found it. Just ordered one myself.

If having second thoughts, I would talk to the dealer. I would imagine they aren't having trouble moving those vehicles. I like those gladiators myself as an overloading option, but went with the JLUR myself. If the gladiator had a diesel option, I might have gone that way.
I used to have a...
Installed the Z locker oem and the problem has apparently been solved. Appreciate the assistance offer from Jeep Cares, but replacing an axle seems like a really expensive band aid approach to solving this problem, because they all seem to have the same faulty sensor. When FCA comes up with a...
In rare cases where there is turbulence (like I am behind an 18 wheeler), the top will pop a bit. This is not common, but does happen. I have no complaints with my SOT top and have had it over a year.
Not bad back there actually. It’s better than the GL450 Benz we traded in for my JLUR according to my fairly tall college aged kids. Only occasional complaints I get are about road (wind) noise at highway speed.
UPDATE: They brought another OEM piece initially and I told them no, so they brought and installed an aftermarket version this morning. If you tap on it the sound is less tinny and more solid like a normal windshield. This glass also has the opening and heating element for the camera. It also...
I am getting my second replacement this week. They are bringing an aftermarket version this time, which apparently accommodates ACC. I asked them to verify this several times, so we will see what shows up on Thursday. I am hoping the safety features work with the new one so I don't have to...
So I got my new windshield yesterday. Didn’t last 24 hours. Had a rock strike on the way to work today that spidered into two 8” cracks and a third that’s likely to grow. Made a new insurance claim this afternoon. This is ridiculous and very frustrating.
I didn't read the entire thread, but if I get your point, you are concerned that the gearing should be lower (i.e. 4.10 v 3.73). A diesel usually doesn't need the gearing a gasser does, and you would be hurting your performance if you go too low with the gearing.
I haven’t seen anything specific to that application. Since they are a simple shape, I’m guessing you could find what you need at Home Depot. If you come up with something, post it here.
New car smell is from the chemicals used to soften plastic (plasticizer) off gassing into the vehicle. The smell in my Jeep was so strong when new I could literally taste it. I often drove with the top open and/or windows down or at least cracked when I first got it. If you do that and park it...
JLUR 3.6 I get about 17-18mpg (hand calculated) with mixed city/freeway driving. Get 19-20 on hwy if the wind isn’t too bad and I keep it at 65-70. Mpg drops a lot over 70.
Three weeks in and mine is cracked. Rock hit below the wiper. Next thing I know there’s a crack running straight up the windshield. Houston freeways are bad for rocks. Glass must be paper thin. Sounds tinny when a rock hits it. I bought the windshield replacement insurance from the dealer based...
