I had the luxury of having a rental Sahara 2.0 for a couple of months (in fact, driving that rig caused me to buy my Rubicon) while also having my 3.6 e-torque Rubicon.
Both had auto trannies and I can say the 2.0 was more fun to drive, it felt peppier and simply accelerated much quicker from...
I just did the first oil change last weekend and was thinking I should buy another oil cap, drill it out and epoxy a funnel to it to do exactly what the funnel you posted does.
The problem arises if the fill plug is destroyed and somebdy that doesn’t have the means to remove it pulls the drain plug and drains the fluid. Now what? They have a Jeep that can’t be driven to get the fill plug removed since there’s no oil in the diff.
I know I would have no problem getting...
I’ve been searching and can’t find a definitive answer. Does it have clutches in the transfer case? Or is the AWD portion strictly gear driven?
I heard it’s it’s clutch based, then I heard it’s an “on demand” type system.
I’ve been searching for an exploded view of the transfer case to inspect...
Well, that particular Jeep was less than 5 years old with 70k miles on when I bought it, so it’s not too far fetched to see a newer Jeep with similar problems.
An example is an old boss of mine had a new Chevy Blazer and during the second oil change it was discovered the drain plug had been...
All the torque in the world didn’t remove this transfer case fill plug on a Jeep I purchased a bunch of years ago. I did get creative though. First picture is how it looked before I touched it.
My 2021 4 door auto Rubicon just weighed in at 5,250 ish pounds.
I went to 2 different scales and they were about 80 lbs difference between the two so I averaged the weight
- factory built with every option except soft top
Mods include the following:
- 1-1/2” Tereflex spacer lift
- 35” KO2’s on...
Somethings not adding up, I would say no way anyone could drive without noticing a rear spring missing but people never cease to amaze me with their abilities.
That recommendation must have changed for 2021, no mention of using 75/140 for the Rubicons in my manual. Actually, no mention of a different fluid for towing at all in my manual.
Or maybe it’s because mines built to Canadian specs?
I installed a second battery a couple of weeks ago. It’s an AGM rebranded Northstar that I have in a DIY battery tray located beside the subwoofer in the cargo area. To keep it isolated from the main battery while not running I used a simple solenoid from amazon. I ran a 4 gauge wire from the...
