  1. Putting the JLU back in "Winter Mode"

I live on LI as well. 3rd Jeep in the last 15 years. I usually change my tops in October, usually right before Halloween. As far as anything else, just make sure your fluid levels are where they should be. Enjoy driving in the snow, if we get any.
  2. # of Wranglers you’ve owned

Same pic, 3 Generations 2001 TJ Sport 2008 JKUR 2018 JLUR
  3. Tonneau, windjammer & soft top - fully closed and waterproof

Same thing with the Suntop that I purchased. Came from Italy with limited instructions. Hey, thanks for all the info on this top, I think you might have sold me.
  4. Tonneau, windjammer & soft top - fully closed and waterproof

How freely does it travel? I've had these setups on my JKU and currently on my JLU and it interferes with the retraction of the seatbelt.
  5. Tonneau, windjammer & soft top - fully closed and waterproof

Thanks for the pics. Can you take one where the seatbelt comes out of the tonneau? I see where it enters the jeep is hard plastic, is it the same on the tonneau cover?
  6. Tonneau, windjammer & soft top - fully closed and waterproof

That California top is HOT! Does anyone know if the owner has got his shit together or is it still a roll of the dice as to if you will actually receive a top?
  7. Beach driving

Hey, to each his own. We spend upwards of $50K on our Jeeps, what's another couple of hundred on a compressor and spending a few minutes on airing down and up? Every beach is different too, in Florida you can drive a Prius on the beach, up here we have a few beaches that are like sandboxes by...
  8. Tonneau, windjammer & soft top - fully closed and waterproof

I thought California Tops sold to Suntop. I could be wrong. I have the Suntop, not the best material. It's just like the old Jeep softop. That being said, it gets the job done, jeep stays dry. I bought the cargo top option which is what you were looking for, and a fastback.
  9. Top Up

Had my doors off with a safari top on for the last 4 days in this heat. Put them back on last night for the rain that passed through.
  10. Hi-Lift Jack Rattles

Did you try one of these? I had the same mount in my JK and never heard a thing. Once you bolt that thing down tightly it really shouldn't rattle that much. I used that isolator and a mini bungie chord to eliminate any rattles.
  11. Tailgate Key Lock Missing

I'm going with saving a few cents, you have to stamp a hole and insert the lock. And if nobody every uses it why bother?
  12. Tailgate Key Lock Missing

When was the last time you used your key to open the tailgate? 3 jeeps in the last 15 years and I don't think I've used my key once.
  13. Rattle in the back?

Agreed, it's probably the jack underneath. Make sure that it's tucked under that lip and then extended so that it's nice and tight.
  14. 35 inches tires on stock Rubi wheels and suspension

Sorry, I have some shitty Pro-Comp tires on it now. Not sure what they weigh. Haven't had trouble with the stock carrier. I use paddle balls to extend the bump stops.
  15. 35 inches tires on stock Rubi wheels and suspension

30K miles and no rubbing yet. I haven't done any extreme off-roading though. If I had plans to for any extreme wheeling I may do a leveling kit.
  16. Disadvantages of having the top off - whats your story??

Figured you were from Jersey you would know about Rohway. Always smells nasty in that area.
  17. Disadvantages of having the top off - whats your story??

Don't drive past Rahway with your top down either.
  18. Manual trans experience different for Sahara vs Rubicon?

Right, what happens if you get a few "peaceful protesters" stuck under your tires? How are you supposed to keep going?
  19. RainGear cover ??

Be careful when removing that thing if you have water pooled up on it. I had one on my old TJ, and first time mistakenly removed the front straps first. Waterfall into the dash/radio. Lesson learned.
