  1. RUBICON!! (was Dusy Ershim Trail) - Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

Hey folks - this is coming up soon so now's a good time to start getting this locked in. Going to be a blast and temps should be mild. The more the merrier!
  2. Rubicon Trail Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

Appreciate the heads-up! Yes, I'm figuring I'll need to prep for the cold for this one.
  3. Hood Corrosion

OK - so I brought my Jeep in to Kearny Mesa Jeep and they took me in right away. They sent me next door to the body shop, they took pictures and I just heard back that the warranty work was approved. Now for the mind-blowing part - corrosion at the hinges can be repaired, corrosion at the edges...

  6. RUBICON!! (was Dusy Ershim Trail) - Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

What do you guys think? You folks down for the Rubicon?
  7. Anyone have feedback on this hitch slider?

I have no doubt that the slider is strong enough. The hitch on the other hand will go through multiple hits (coming from an angle it's not designed to do) and may even bend upwards. I'd go for something lower profile. Lower profile = More clearance = fewer hits = less damage.
  8. RUBICON!! (was Dusy Ershim Trail) - Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

Is it easier or harder backwards?
  9. RUBICON!! (was Dusy Ershim Trail) - Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

  11. RUBICON!! (was Dusy Ershim Trail) - Memorial Day Weekend (ish)

Hey folks, I have a rare opportunity to take some time to do a multi-day trip as I'm moving on from my current job on 5/23, and starting my next on on 6/2. I've been wanting to do the Dusy-Ershim Rubicon Trail - ideally I can drive up on Saturday, we can start early Sunday and run the trail...
  12. Any snow on BOH trails still? Anyone available Sat 4/19?

Saw this late and already have plans so no go from me. Gotta get out there soon though!
  13. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Pizza (LA to Moab -- Trip Journal)

Sorry to hear that and wishing for a very speedy recovery.
  14. Hood Corrosion

Well, the saga continues. I brought it to the dealership and they acknowledged that there is a 5 year corrosion warranty on my Jeep but "they've used up their corrosion allocation for the year in the first 2 months". So - I can wait until 2026 and get in line. What the hell? It's covered under...
  15. Hood Corrosion

That simultaneously comforts me and infuriates me. Thanks very much for the link. I'll print some of this out for the service advisor.
  16. Hood Corrosion

Well, I'm bringing my Jeep in tomorrow to have it looked at. When I made the appointment, a service advisor called me and told me that since I was >36K miles it isn't covered. I told him it's obviously a defect in the paint and after much hemming and hawing he said he could start a claim with...
  17. Heartbreak Ridge - Saturday May 10th

    A little from column A, a little from column B... ;)
  18. Heartbreak Ridge - Saturday May 10th

Can't make the 10th but take lots of photos! Taking my wife to a James Taylor concert (yes, I'm an old fart).
  19. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Pizza (LA to Moab -- Trip Journal)

Jeff's a good guy. Have a great time out in Moab and can't wait to hear your take on Golden Spike. Such an awesome trail!
  20. Hood Corrosion

Just noticed hood corrosion this morning. Bummer. I guess the only good thing is it's the only part that Jeep can't claim is due to my mods 🤣 (or can they?). Anyone else get corrosion fixed under warranty?
