OK - so I brought my Jeep in to Kearny Mesa Jeep and they took me in right away. They sent me next door to the body shop, they took pictures and I just heard back that the warranty work was approved. Now for the mind-blowing part - corrosion at the hinges can be repaired, corrosion at the edges...

That's a really good point - has me thinking Loon -> Tahoe may be the way to go

I have no doubt that the slider is strong enough. The hitch on the other hand will go through multiple hits (coming from an angle it's not designed to do) and may even bend upwards. I'd go for something lower profile. Lower profile = More clearance = fewer hits = less damage.

Is it easier or harder backwards?

OK, back to the drawing board. Open to ideas.

Well, the saga continues. I brought it to the dealership and they acknowledged that there is a 5 year corrosion warranty on my Jeep but "they've used up their corrosion allocation for the year in the first 2 months". So - I can wait until 2026 and get in line. What the hell? It's covered under...

Well, I'm bringing my Jeep in tomorrow to have it looked at. When I made the appointment, a service advisor called me and told me that since I was >36K miles it isn't covered. I told him it's obviously a defect in the paint and after much hemming and hawing he said he could start a claim with...

Just noticed hood corrosion this morning. Bummer. I guess the only good thing is it's the only part that Jeep can't claim is due to my mods 🤣 (or can they?). Anyone else get corrosion fixed under warranty?
