  1. Hot Transmission

Appreciate that heads up. Hadn't heard of that trick yet. I'll look into it.
  2. Hot Transmission

I have the Mishimoto on the way actually :) I replaced the radiator with a Mishimoto last year due to a leak on the stock unit. I should have replaced both at the time... oh well. I was eluding to the heater on the Transmission side. I plan to order a replacement in case my old one gives out...
  3. Hot Transmission

Any writeups on changing these out? I'm assuming it's bolts and hoses, but if anyone has lessons learned to share that would be great.
  4. What transmission temps have you seen in sand?

220 is common for my 2018 3.6 auto, especially in stop and go summer traffic. It has been since day one. I don't like that it gets that high, but I've yet to have any issues at 80k miles.
  5. Broke my electric sway bar disconnect on a rock.

Sounds like a great excuse to run an anti rock and ditch the auto disconnect. :)
  6. Pictures of camping with your Jeep

Few Weeks Ago in the morning near Clayton, GA. That area really is underappreciated.
  7. Jeep Camping: How Do You Cook?

    1. Make big fire. 2. Wrap food in tin foil 3. Throw food on fire. 4. Drink beer. 5. Take food out of fire. 6. Drink beer. 7. Eat food. 8. Drink beer.
  8. Florida Roll Call!

Revolution gears (4.88). I'm running 35s with a 3.6 Auto, and don't really plan on going to 37s at any point. No noises beyond what the Jwep naturally makes. I did a proper breaking period and change the diff oil every 30k. Worst case, I just put the top down and turn the noise reduction knob...
  9. Florida Roll Call!

Used them for a few efforts including regearing, and i have no issues. The Jeep has been going strong post regear for 2yrs now including multiple 10k mile road trips out west to CO, UT, NV, etc.
  10. Vent tube on 3.6L

There's a few good threads on the topic here if you haven't already seen them. I believe this one has a decent view of the t-case location: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/water-in-the-trans-moving-tubes.44093/post-973371
  11. Vent tube on 3.6L

I believe it's the Transmission breather. The t-case is small and sits atop the case itself (image of mine post extension below). Extending the t-case and axle breathers into the engine bay is fairly easy though.
  12. New milestone

And here I am thinking my milage is getting high at 72k 😆 with the ol' 2018 3.6 Auto
  13. Redline 0w20 VOA

Yeah, you got a point... I mean it does say "superior lubricant" right there on the can!!! :like:
  14. Redline 0w20 VOA

You guys are all doing it wrong. 6qrts of equal parts 0w20 and 5w30 with a couple of squirts of wd40 for lubrication at every oil change will guarantee you are always running with an engine that may as well be brand new!
  15. What's your favorite Jeep add-on accessory?

Sunrider followed by Genesis Dual Battery System as they get used constantly. Afterwards, it would likley be the Original version LoD Sliders and Front Bumper, as they protect the body and allow for a winch.
  16. ZF8 50K Mile Transmission Service -- DIY How-To Instructions

I did a 4th refill after making sure it was warm (same as last time), but this time it took another 1/2qrt. Problem solved. Thankfully it was a simple fix. Thanks for the reply as it made me double/triple guess myself 😉 Legit, the hurricane just came through last night and took.out our back...
  17. ZF8 50K Mile Transmission Service -- DIY How-To Instructions

Just did this service for my 2018, but now there is a rattle when it shifts gears. No vibrations or hesitation in changing gears, but the rattle (kinda like a loose piece of metal in a jar/can) is present from gear 2-8 at shift points (Nothing in Reverse or Neutral). I pulled the pan to make...
  18. Does SOT increase heat inside? Especailly in FL, TX, AZ, etc.

A/C will keep up; just the same as soft top models. But that won't be an issue because the top will be down anyhow, so no a/c needed! ;)
