First time I drove a 2.0, I clobbered the throttle like I needed to do with my old 3.6 JK to get some good movement when pulling out into traffic. The 2.0 laid a nice patch of rubber when I did that, and it surprised me. Oops.
I think that's where the 3.6 guys say the 2.0 is touchy or jumpy...
Y'all go for the women who can't tell the difference between a 4 and 6 cylinder, or wouldn't ask when test driving a new vehicle? Is that because they're the only thing you can find, or, ???
I'm so grouchy I don't really even like soft tops anymore.
A Sunrider is almost appealing, but again, almost $1k for a piece of fabric to stretch over where the Freedom Panels go. C'Mon..
I feel like at any time I'm seconds away from cashing out the Jeep and buying a pickup with a...
Nice idea for some. For guys like me, if I can't open it easily, I'm just not interested. I've got a clear roof on a car and it's something I'd never pay for again. I really just want a ragtop or sunroof I can open with a button, or one-hand to unlatch and pull back. Freedom panels are even too...
Very nice!
The C8 is both visually stunning and an all-around amazing car. I think the lines pop best with a bright color like yours, in fact, I'm not sure I've seen one in yellow before. Looks awesome!
I've not had a Corvette - yet. But I think posts like this push me closer!!
Have you tried looking on a site like tirerack.com, for starters? It lists optional tire sizes for your application and has good pictures of tires/tread/sidewalls for many different tire brands and models.
In Moab, my passengers started to pucker around 20 degrees. I still feel in control into the 20's but I really don't want to find the exact angle where roll becomes likely. And the roll angle can change so quickly with uneven surface. Slow and steady does it.
Pucker factor changes when you're...
I think it's a fair assumption...we're probably months away from actual 2026 production ramp-up, or, who knows, it could be delayed or rescheduled due to tariffs. I could be missing something, but have not heard about any true 2nd generation 3.6 or Hurricane coming for the 2026 models. I've read...
Hot rod motors seem like an unlikely match for a Jeep…thinking lumpy/barely idle with a souped cam and making power high up in the RPM range. It would be fun, just maybe not a great match for rock crawling?
No matter what the reference, every time I see/hear 5.0, I think noodle-body/Fox...
Jeep is a little behind on power when considering small engines and base engine options. The 3.6's power really hasn't changed since it was introduced in 2009 (MY 2012 for the Wrangler). The 2.0's hasn't either and it's coming up on being 10 years old here shortly.
In constrast, the 2.7 turbo 4...
I wouldn't let the lack of a camera stop me from wheeling alone--if I really wanted to. I'd rather wheel with others when possible because there's some safety/additional benefit in numbers.
The other part of it...if you go to a place like Moab, you'll see a lot of people who really have no...
That's what I'm getting at, though. How different are the temps between something like a Jeep diff under load versus a medium/heavy truck differential. The difference in fill volume is apparent, but does that just equate to more frequent recommended changes for a smaller diff, not necessarily a...
Somewhat related...I went looking for fluid spec for the Meritor 24k rear axle in our motorhome. It's a 4.89 and it requires 75w90 (like 3 gallons of it...). The rig is capable of 60k gross combined...a little stunned that a more robust gear oil isn't used. Looking up other axle spec used on...
Was that before or after a Cylinder 2/3 misfire on your 3.6 and a 2nd set of failed cam followers?
It's hilarious that we're arguing over two shit motors. Someone's gonna chime in with Diesel, and yeah, they can claim whatever they want about the Olive Garden of diesel engines, it sucks too...
Yeah...I grew up in a house where dad bought many cars "for mom", which were actually his choosing, and where she had almost no input. To this day, he's still old-school like that. He's a good person and is a good father and is a good husband to her, but some habits just die hard. It's now...
Hey man, if you need crutches to help you wheel and increase your skill level, use your cameras!
I'm just kidding - I hope you know that by now. If you have cameras, use them, but I maintain they're not required, and GOAL-ing is pretty minimal.
I regard them like backup cameras. I'm not going...
