So you have the mopar lift and went with the shorter links? Let me know how it works because that was my plan.
I was afraid they wouldnāt be long enough
I went from a JLU to a Gldiator mainly for space purposes. With a toddler, dog and wife I needed a lot of extra space for camping gear/ other random things like plastic pools and water tables lol. I have a soft topper and can fit a ton of stuff while still having the entire cabin for the fam...
I need more details š.
My 3.8 was pretty solid. Only about 80k but it did burn a good amount of oil.
I feel the electronics would be the most difficult part.
Iām assuming it took a few hits hard enough to bend a tiny bit which loosened the axle tube u bolt clamps. Or simply loosened over time/ I didnāt have it tight enough to begin with after a diff fluid change. Then got worse from there with bending and movement. Which allowed it to shift up into...
I ran that rear skid for awhile. Until it bent and took out my pinion seal. Which required pulling over and filling up the diff 3 times on the way home haha. I also ran the stock cover and put a big dent in it on fordyce. Very lucky to not damage the gears lol.
Why it bent so bad Iām not sure...
Iāve had both. The 6 speed wasnāt bad but it had issues. Creaking clutch once warmed up from 15-40k miles. Replaced the slave cylinder once but that didnāt fix it. Manual was ok with 5.13ās and 37ās but the auto is much better. I always said I wish I had 5.38ās with the manual. It just always...
Running KBD high clearance fenders with American adventure lab inner fender liners. Yeah ill have to try and get an idea with uptravel clearance. Trying to order before a trip next week lol.
Did not think about the backspacing. Mine are 17x8.5" wide with 0 offset and 4.75bs. Yeah It would be about parallel with the ground using the 8" autolynx set to 8.7.
Also I should note my axles are narrow width 44's. Gladiator non Rubicon 44's.
Trying to determine between the 8" or 10.5".
3" ish lift but with the mopar fox shocks, so could go either 8" or 10.5". Currently my sway bar is tilted up just a bit and my sway links are 9". So the 8.7" setting on the 8" autolynx would work.
3" bump stops. Just what I had around the garage...
Do the Spicer or ARB covers still fit on the "updated" 22-23 housings? Doing some reading I was seeing that Artec's truss requires extra trimming work to fit with the newer housings, front specifically, so I was hoping all the diff covers still fit.
Yeha I worked as a lot porter back in 07-08 ish. Drove a used 05 sti that was on that lot all the time. Loved subies ever since.
With snow tires this thing was a beast!
I once traded in a 4runner for a brand new wrx sti. I Had always wanted one. But got tired of not being able to get down more than a gravel road. Having always had 4wd/ lifted 4wd and my love of off roading. I only lasted about a year and half before I traded it in for a rubicon.
Now being able...
Guess that makes sense. When the ud44 was released, Eaton did not have a locker for thr JL yet. I never had any problems with it. Mine was wired to my factory aux switches.
My 18 manual pinged like crazy on 87. Had to use 91. Now the gladiator auto I have not noticed any ping running 87. We will see what happens in the summer.
I did. Sold my JL for multiple reasons. I like the amount of stuff I can fit in the bed under a soft topper for camping with the family. Plus my bike rack on the back or tow a small trailer.
Arbās and 4.88ās on the way.
